Kennedy, known for his creative speaking style, joined 'Your World With Neil Cavuto' on Monday and the subject turned to Harris.
“Those who have an opinion of the vice president think that, number one, he's a bit of a dingdong, he's not a serious person,” Kennedy said. “They've had a vegetable in chief, they don't want another one, and they also think he's a member of the loon wing of the Democratic Party. He is a Democrat from San Francisco. She believes in abortion on demand. She believes Israel should give the Palestinians everything they want. She believes in an open border. She thinks criminals, or cops are a bigger problem than criminals. She is proud of what she and the president did in Afghanistan. She believes in strength, our national security strengths are weakness, that if we sit down with our enemies and have a cup of hot cocoa and give them a hug, they'll be nice to us.”
Cavuto cut Kennedy off to ask if he thinks being mean to Harris is a good strategy.
“She's running even with Donald Trump, and I'm just wondering about the approach that you're taking and it's very clever, don't get me wrong, and you raise a lot of underlying issues, it's going to come back to bite you, right? Doesn't that worry you?” asked the host.
“I'm telling you what I think the American people think. It may not be what I think and it may not be what you think. But this is Washington,” Kennedy said.
“So what do you make of the polls that show he's running even with Donald Trump, regardless of what you and I think?” Cavuto pressed.
“The polls that I've seen, the most recent polls, you can't just look at the front lines, Neil, you've got to look at the cross-tabs. And if you look at the cross-tabs and really look at what people think, look at me again, the polls i've seen show that many americans think the vice president is not a serious person. , he's a bit of a dingdong San Francisco It's like Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, except without the bartending experience, and the point she was trying to make was that in announcing her first policy position on abortion, the idea that we should have a law that says you can have an abortion at any time, no questions asked even up to the time of birth, I think for most Americans that's a loon-wing position. That's just the my opinion, but the polls also show it”.
Cavuto again asked how Kennedy thinks this kind of language will “resonate with women.”
“You know, she's called 'nasty' and 'crazy' and a 'dingdong' and it's disrespectful, between you and the president, what's been said about her. Just wondering, are you worried about how this looks? And maybe you don't differentiate between a female candidate and a male candidate, and that's fair game, but that could hurt you with female voters, with those kinds of comments? he made the embers.
“Well, let me say that again,” Kennedy replied. “The vice president is the candidate for president of the United States. I don't care about their gender, Neil, maybe I do, but I don't. I don't care about their race…
“Then why call him dingdong?” Cavuto cut in to ask.
“I'm saying what the poll shows. I'm telling you what the poll shows. And it does. And I'll be happy to sit down with you and walk you through the polls…” he replied the senator before being cut off.
“Please do it because I never know when it's constructive to call people, senator, I just the left or the right,” Cavuto said.
“Well, I'm sorry if it hurts your feelings, but let me say it again…” Kennedy cut herself off again.
“Senator, keep coming back to my feelings. My feelings don't matter. All I'm saying is if you think you can play this November by insulting people, I don't know how far it goes. Left or right. But we'll see, it's still soon, at your point.”
“Your feelings seem to me to matter to you Neil, and I'm trying to be objective here, let me say that again…”
“Are you ready? Are you really being targeted, Senator? Cavuto chimed in again. “I just think you have a shock, a so-called, if you call it targeted, I don't know,” the host said before ending the segment.
