Biden fumes over Ukraine's stagnant money, suggests Americans will be sent to fight Russia

-

President Joe Biden on Wednesday accused House Republicans of being “ready to give Putin the biggest gift he could ever hope for” and warned that unless they agree to send billions more in taxpayer money and military assistance to Ukraine, there will be “American troops fighting Russia.” troops” before the war ends.

Biden issued the ominous warning on television Address of the White House to discuss the “urgent responsibility that Congress has to defend the national security needs of the United States and, frankly, of our partners as well.”

“This cannot wait,” he stated. “Congress must approve supplemental funding for Ukraine before they run out for the holidays. It's as simple as that.”

“Honestly, I think it's impressive that we got to this point in the first place,” he continued. “While Congress, Republicans in Congress, are willing to give Putin the biggest gift he could ever hope for and abandon our global leadership not only in Ukraine, but beyond.”

The president painted an apocalyptic picture of Ukrainian suffering at the hands of Russian President Vladimir Putin:

We have all seen the brutality that Putin has inflicted on Ukraine: invading another country; trying to subjugate their neighbors to their iron rule; committing atrocities — atrocities against Ukrainian civilians; trying to plunge them into the cold and dark of winter by bombing their power grid so they don't have heat during the winter, ki- — or electricity, for that matter; kidnap thousands of Ukrainian children from their parents and families and keep them in Russia.

“Russian forces are committing war crimes,” he declared. “It's as simple as that. It's impressive.”

“Who is willing to walk away from Putin's responsibility for this behavior?” Biden asked. “Who among us is really ready to do that?”

As the war between Ukraine and Russia approaches two years, the president claimed that Ukraine has “denied Russia a victory on the battlefield” and “defeated Vladimir Putin's ambition to dominate Ukraine.”

In fact, according to a November report of the United Nations, “at least 10,000 [Ukrainian] civilians, including more than 560 children, have been killed and more than 18,500 injured” since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022.

The “real figure,” the UN said, “may be significantly higher given the challenges and time required for verification.”

It's a war that many, including Tucker Carlson, believe Ukraine cannot win.

“At first we were told that our support would allow Ukraine to beat Russia and prevent Russia from invading the rest of Europe or something,” Carlson said. said during his recent episode X. “Well, almost two years later, none of that has turned out to be true. Ukraine is not going to win in Russia.”

“The only person that has been hit in this is the United States,” Carlson said. “The US is weaker, measurably weaker, because of our support for Ukraine in this war. That much is true. The verdict is in, and honest, rational people admit it no matter what their previous position was.”

But Biden insisted he's “not ready to go.”

“And I don't think the American people are either,” he said.

“If Putin takes Ukraine, he won't stop there,” the president predicted. “It is important to see the long term here. He will move on. He has made it quite clear.”

And, if the Russian leader does, American boots will be on the battlefield.

“If Putin attacks a NATO ally, if he goes ahead and then attacks a NATO ally, well, as a NATO member we're committed to defending every inch of NATO territory,” he explained. “Then we'll have something we're not looking for and we don't have today: American troops fighting Russian troops; American troops fighting Russian troops if it moves to other parts of NATO.”

“Make no mistake: today's vote will be remembered for a long time,” he declared dramatically. “And history will judge harshly those who turn their backs on the cause of freedom.”

“We cannot let Putin win,” he told the Americans. “I'll say it again: We cannot let Putin win. It's in our overwhelming national interest and the international interest of all our friends.”

And Putin wouldn't stand a chance if it weren't for those pesky “extreme Republicans and their “partisan” tantrums about the open border that is exposing citizens to drug cartels, human traffickers, and national security risks so high that, according to Christopher Wray, Director of the FBI“he has never seen a time when all the threats or so many of the threats are elevated, all at exactly the same time.”

“Any disruption in our ability to supply Ukraine clearly strengthens Putin's position. We've run out of money to be able to do that, in terms of authorization,” Biden said. “Extreme Republicans are messing with our national security by holding Ukraine's funding hostage to their extreme partisan border policies.”

“I've asked for billions of dollars for more border agents, more immigration judges, more asylum officers,” he said. “The Republicans have to decide if they want a political issue or if they want a solution on the border. Do they really want a solution? It cannot remain as it is now.”

Republicans, he said, must be willing to reach across the aisle.

“Republicans think they can get everything they want without any bipartisan compromise,” he said. “That's not the answer. That's not the answer. And now they're willing to literally take Ukraine on the battlefield and damage our national security in the process.”

“Petty, partisan and angry politics cannot stand in the way of our responsibilities as a leading nation in the world,” he said. “And literally the whole world is watching. The whole world is watching: What is the United States going to do?

“Let's do it,” he urged Congress. “We're the reason why Putin hasn't invaded Ukraine and hasn't gone further.”

Online, the president's pleas moved few.

“Our country is being invaded and Biden wants to send more $ to Ukraine…” one user wrote. “It's called BETRAYAL.”

“Not one more cent for Ukraine,” demanded another.

“You need to close our border before you DO the holidays,” replied a third. “IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT.”
