Beloved ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry died aged 54 at the end of October. The exact cause of death was unknown.
According to reports, Perry was found dead in the jacuzzi of his residence in the upscale Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles around 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon.
The 911 call to first responders indicated that Perry went into cardiac arrest. There were widespread reports that he simply “drowned”. But why did he drown?
No narcotics were discovered at the crime scene and foul play was not suspected, sources said.
Nearly two weeks after his death, the official death certificate of “Friends” star Matthew Perry has been released, offering insight into the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to the death certificate obtained by the media, Perry passed at 4:17 p.m. on Oct. 28.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office listed the cause of death as “delayed” in late October. Although an autopsy was performed, the results have yet to be determined. While an autopsy is usually completed within two days of a person’s death, final findings from a toxicology report can take several weeks to be available.
Initial toxicology tests, however, revealed that neither methamphetamine nor fentanyl were detected in Perry’s system at the time of his death.
In addition, investigators did not discover any illicit substances on the premises of his home. Additional investigations are underway to determine if the actor experienced adverse effects from any prescription medication.
Perry was an avid vaccine advocate.
The exact cause of Perry’s death has not yet been confirmed. But initial reports suggest that illicit drugs, a previous source of struggle for the actor, were not the cause of death.
