Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD) has been annoyingly vociferous in his defense of Joe Biden against GOP claims of corruption and influence peddling involving “The Big Guy” and various members of his family. The same claims that are increasingly credible with every piece of evidence that is being produced and the multiple whistleblowers in the FBI and IRS that have come forward.
It’s important to note that Rep. Raskin has had significant roles in the House, including on the House Judiciary Committee in the last session, and is currently the Ranking Member on the House Oversight Committee.
Raskin also took the lead in President Trump’s second impeachment.
That same guy is now insisting that there’s “nothing to see here” when it comes to Joe Biden and the entire Biden Crime Family and money shovelled at them from places like Ukraine, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Romania.
Is America headed for a recession?
Rep. Raskin said that the Trump DOJ headed up by AG Bill Barr had terminated an investigation based on an FD-1023 that cited a “highly credible” confidential informant that Joe Biden had been involved in a bribery scheme.
Raskin said that this was because Barr and the U.S. attorney that Barr had put in charge of the investigation, Scott Brady, had determined that there were no grounds to continue the investigation.

Here is Rep. Raskin on News Nation in May saying that the FD-1023 was “much ado about nothing.”
For months, Raskin has been staunchly defending Biden.
In September, he said in a House Oversight Committee Hearing that there is “no credible evidence” of Joe Biden committing crimes.
Raskin’s behaviour while Ranking Member on Oversight is reminiscent of that of Rep. Adam Schiff(D-CA) and his McCarthyite behavior while on the House Intelligence Committee and claiming that he had evidence that Trump had colluded with Russia when there was no evidence of that whatsoever.
Raskin has been such a staunch defender of the President that one of Raskin’s GOP colleagues called the Maryland Democrat the “Chief Propagandist for the Biden administration.”
It looks like freshman Rep. Russell Fry (R-SC), is right to call Raskin that.
That’s because Scott Brady, the then-U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania directly contradicted Raskin in a closed-door hearing with the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.
Brady testified that there was enough credible evidence to refer the matter to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware for investigation.
“My understanding of Mr. Raskin’s public statements is that, based on the determination that I and my team found the allegations in the 1023 not credible or other information not credible, we did not escalate the assessment to a limited or full investigation,” Brady said. “That’s not true.”

The House Oversight Committee now wants Raskin to correct the record, apologize to the American people for “spreading disinformation”, and take his role on the Oversight Committee seriously.
The Committee headed by GOP Congressman James Comer sent a letter to his Democrat colleague calling for a correction of the record.

“The Committee requests that you formally correct the record and apologize to the American people for spreading disinformation about evidence collected by the Committee during its investigation of President Biden,” states the letter.
“Additionally, we ask, Mr. Raskin, that you take seriously your position as Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Accountability and its incumbent responsibility to be honest regarding facts learned in the course of investigations— even those that are inconvenient to your own political views,” it continues. “While we appreciate your role up to this point has been to play defense counsel for the Biden family, it is time to follow the evidence and speak the truth.”
This is nice to see. At least some members of the GOP have found their cajones and are able to call out the lying disinformation-peddling Democrats like Rep. Jamie Raskin.
