Fulton County authorities are waiting donald trump to surrender for arrest on Georgia election interference charges sometime Thursday evening.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has imposed flight restrictions in the area above the Fulton County Jail, where the former president is scheduled to appear for arraignment, from 6:45 p.m. It is until 21:00 on Thursday.
As WTOC reporter Shea Schrader pointed out to X, earlier Twitterthe reason for the closure of the airspace around the prison is because of “VIP movement”.
Trump, who previously said so would be delivered “proudly” on Thursdayis charged with 13 felonies under the Fulton County DA Fanny Willis‘ investigation of election interference, including violation of the state RICO Act, solicitation of violation of oath by a public official and conspiracy to commit forgery. The former president has long denied any wrongdoing related to the Willis investigation.
Willis had previously given Trump and the 18 other suspects charged in his investigation into alleged criminal attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election until noon on Friday, Aug. 25, to turn themselves in.
Several of Trump’s co-defendants, including the former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani and former lawyers for former president John Eastman, Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis, have already given up and gone through the booking process, including having their photos taken.
Like the other suspects, Trump will also be mugged after turning himself in for arrest, the first time he has been mugged in any of the four criminal investigations in which he has been charged. former president
“Unless someone tells me otherwise, we are following our normal practices and so no matter your status, we will have an information photo ready for you,Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat previously confirmed.
Trump also had bail set for the first time in the Fulton County case by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee setting the amount at $200,000. McAfee also told Trump not to intimidate any potential witnesses in the case or “otherwise obstruct the administration of justice.” Trump was also ordered by a judge not to make any threats against people involved in the case on social media.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump scoffed at the idea that a person with such a large profile as him needed a bond.
“Fulton County (Atlanta) Bankruptcy District Attorney Fani Willis insisted on $200,000 bail on my part. I guess, therefore, she thought I was a ‘flight’ risk – I would fly away, maybe in Russia, Russia, Russia, sharing a gold-domed suite with Vladimir, never to be seen or heard from again,” Trump wrote.
“Would I be able to take my very ‘underrated’ plane with the gold TRUMP emblazoned on it for all to see? Probably not, I’d be much better off flying commercially – I’m sure no one would recognize me!”
