What Happened Leading Up To January 6th – Steve Bannon’s War Room: Pandemic

On January 6th, 2021, the world witnessed a shocking event when a mob of rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C., in support of former President Donald Trump. This event was the culmination of months of political turmoil in the United States, and it all began with the launch of Steve Bannon’s podcast, War Room: Pandemic, in August 2020.

Bannon, a former advisor to President Trump, used the podcast to spread his own version of the truth about the coronavirus pandemic. He argued that the virus was not as serious as the media and health experts were making it out to be, and he encouraged listeners to join him in a fight against the “deep state” and the “globalists” he believed were trying to take away individual freedoms. He also used the platform to criticize the response of the Trump administration, often blaming the President’s own advisors for the slow response to the crisis.

As the pandemic continued to worsen and the US death toll rose, Bannon’s rhetoric grew increasingly inflammatory. He began to call for a “revolution” against the government and encouraged his followers to “take back the country.” He also began to support the baseless claims of election fraud that were being pushed by President Trump and his allies.

In the weeks leading up to January 6th, Bannon’s rhetoric became even more extreme. He began to call for a “day of reckoning” and urged his followers to “come to Washington” and “stop the steal.” On December 19th, he hosted a rally in Washington D.C. to protest the election results, and he continued to encourage his supporters to take action in the days leading up to January 6th.

On the day of the attack, Bannon was in Rome, where he had gone to attend a conference. He was later arrested by federal agents and charged with fraud and money laundering related to the “We Build the Wall” fundraising campaign.

While Bannon’s role in the events of January 6th is still being investigated, it is clear that his podcast and rhetoric had a major influence on the mob of rioters who stormed the Capitol. His words and actions helped to create an atmosphere of fear and mistrust that led to the tragic events of that day.
