On Tuesday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson blasted Attorney General William Barr’s response to the death of accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

In an explosive monologue on his show, Carlson called out Barr for his response to Epstein’s death, which he said was “woefully inadequate.”

“The Attorney General of the United States is supposed to be the nation’s top law enforcement officer,” Carlson said. “His job is to investigate crimes and prosecute the guilty. But instead of doing that, Barr has been saying things like this.”

Carlson then played a clip of Barr’s statement on Epstein’s death, in which he said he was “appalled” by the circumstances surrounding it.

“That’s it?” Carlson said. “That’s the best he can do?”

Carlson went on to criticize Barr for not taking action in response to Epstein’s death, saying that it was “remarkable” that he had not ordered an investigation into how it happened.

“Maybe someone in the new Republican Congress should look into all of this,” Carlson said.

He then went on to criticize the Department of Justice for its handling of the case, saying that it had failed to prosecute Epstein’s alleged accomplices, and had not done enough to investigate the allegations against him.

“It’s not just Epstein’s death that’s troubling,” Carlson said. “It’s the way the government responded to it.”

He then went on to criticize the media for its coverage of the case, saying that it had been “too focused on the lurid details” and not enough on the “real story.”

“The real story here is that powerful people in this country are rarely held accountable for their crimes,” Carlson said. “That’s the story we should be talking about.”

Carlson concluded his monologue by saying that the Department of Justice should be held to a higher standard, and that it was “unacceptable” that it had not done more to investigate Epstein’s death.

“We’re not asking for much,” Carlson said. “We’re asking for justice.”

The monologue has been widely praised by viewers, with many calling it “powerful” and “compelling.”

The reaction to Carlson’s monologue has also been echoed by other prominent figures in the media, including MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who said that Carlson’s monologue was “important” and that “it’s time for someone to investigate what happened.”

It remains to be seen if the Department of Justice will respond to Carlson’s call for an investigation into Epstein’s death, or if the new Republican Congress will take up the cause. But one thing is clear: Carlson’s monologue has put the spotlight back on the case, and the public is demanding answers.
