The officer drove through the mall for several minutes while hearing additional gunshots in the distance until he located the suspect. The officer then shot and killed the suspect, Mauricio Garcia.
“This video shows how quickly a routine interaction with the public turned into a life-or-death situation,” said Allen Police Chief Brian Harvey. “The officer recognized the danger, ran toward the gunfire and neutralized the threat, and for his actions, the Allen community is eternally grateful.”
