There are disturbing signs that US government agencies are aiming to roll back Covid lockdowns and mask mandates, as breathless new reports of “highly mutated” variants are spreading through the media like wildfire.
The National Covid-19 Preparedness Plan was updated on Tuesday, as noted by popular podcast host Tim Pool.

The last variant currently mentioned in the National Preparedness Plan for Covid-19 is Omicron. He still does not mention the novel variants Eris or Pirola.
But that’s not stopping private organizations from bringing back mask mandates, even though there’s a massive lack of evidence that high compliance rates significantly halted virus transmission rates in nations around the world.
As Deadline Hollywood reported on Monday, “Amid rising Covid cases in Los Angeles, Lionsgate has reinstated the mask mandate for nearly half of the company’s employees at its flagship office at 2700 Colorado Ave. in Santa Monica. The policy change was announced internally by Lionsgate/Starz chief response officer Sommer McElroy in an email, a copy of which was obtained by Deadline. It was implemented in response to multiple employees testing positive recently due to Covid, involves a mandatory mask mandate effective immediately and until further notice for the 3rd and 5th floors of the five-story building, the email said.
“Employees must wear a medical-grade face covering (surgical mask, KN95 or N95) indoors, except when alone in an office with the door closed, actively eating, actively drinking at their desk or workstation, or if they are the only person present in the office. a large open work space,” said response manager Sommer McElroy.
But even more troubling is that colleges have latched onto media reports to begin implementing mask mandates again.

As Collin Rugg noted, Morris Brown College recently announced new mandates: “All students and employees must wear face masks.” The Biden administration is also ramping up its rhetoric about Covid-19, he added.
“We are going to encourage all Americans to get these boosters, in addition to the flu and respiratory syncytial virus vaccines,” a White House official announced.
Many have taken to social media to declare their intention: NOT TO COMPLY.
Mask mandates are back.
These are not supported by scientific evidence.
They are motivated by superstition and power.

Masks do not act as PPE or source control for a virus, especially an aerosolized virus. What it does is create more damage, prevent proper gas exchanges. All they need are engineering controls.

Many Americans will learn the hard way: Those who refuse to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. For those who can learn from history, there is only one way forward: not to comply.
