ChatGPT CEO Warns World That Artificial Intelligence Will ‘Break Capitalism’

ChatGPT has become one of the fastest growing artificial intelligence bots in the world. It has also become a source of controversy, with critics claiming it deploys bias and censorship to manipulate conversations and guide users to the “Woke” conclusion, while proponents claim these AI bots only give to users information that is a reflection of culture. .

However, in a dystopian interview with Forbes, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, warns of the danger artificial intelligence poses to free societies.

Above all, Altman warned that ChatGPT and AI bots like this can play a role in the destruction of capitalism.

“I think capitalism is great. I love capitalism,” Altman says. “Of all the bad systems the world has, it’s the best, or the least bad, we’ve found so far. I hope we find a better one.”

He continued that if true artificial intelligence emerges, it can “imagine all these ways that it breaks capitalism.”

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is currently a for-profit company. Its co-founder, none other than Twitter CEO Elon Musk, left the company in 2019 due to disagreements over its direction.

In the Forbes interview, Altman talked about the need to make APIs (application programming interfaces) open source.

“I think the most important way to do that is by publishing open tools like ChatGPT,” he said. “Google doesn’t put this stuff out for public use. Other research labs don’t for other reasons; there are people who fear it’s not safe. But I really think we need society to get a feel for it, to wrestle with it, to see the benefits and understand the drawbacks.”

“So I think the most important thing we do is put these things out there so the world starts to understand what’s coming,” he continued. “Of all the things I’m proud of about OpenAI, one of the biggest is that we were able to push the Overton window [note: a model for understanding what policies are politically acceptable to the public at a given time] to AGI in a way that I think is healthy and important, even if it’s uncomfortable at times.”

“Beyond that, we want to offer increasingly powerful APIs as we’re able to make them more secure,” he added. “We will continue to open source things like open source CLIP [Editor’s note: a visual neural network released in 2021]. Open source in what really led to the boom in image generation. Most recently, we opened Whisper and Triton [automatic speech recognition and a programming language]. So I think it’s a multi-pronged strategy for getting things out into the world, while balancing the risks and benefits of each particular thing.”

Examples of APIs that people use every day include: Twitter bots, social media logins, travel booking apps, Google Maps, and PayPal.

One developer, JD Sharp, told Becker News that he is trying to develop an API that would provide an alternative to ChatGPT, which has been shown to be politically biased. It’s called “Uncensored AI.”

“Open AI is censored,” Sharp told Becker News. “Because they only express specific data points. Well, the new API they left just shares those censored data points like everyone else. Integrate it in social networks, companies, etc. The more companies use it, the more censored everything is.”

Elon Musk has held discussions with AI experts over the “recent weeks” to create a competitor to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Forbes reported.

“According to The Information, Musk has approached AI researcher Igor Babuschkin, formerly of Google’s DeepMind, to join his project, although Babuschkin has not officially signed on,” says the report

Musk, who describes himself as a “free speech absolutist”, sparked discussions about an Open AI rival after it was discovered that ChatGPT has barriers to prevent it from making controversial replies, sexist comments or racial slurs .

In response to a tweet by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on ChatGPT in December, Musk tweeted “the danger of training AI to wake up, ie lie, is deadly.”

The Biden administration illustrated this danger by issuing an “Executive Order to Further Advance Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Across the Federal Government.” Government” that would make it a federal requirement that AI bots promote Woke’s causes, such as advancing “fairness” and “inclusion,” even if they infringe on First Amendment protections for freedom of expression.

In the section of the executive order under “Embedding equity into government-wide processes,” the director of the Office of Management and Budget is instructed “to support equitable decision-making, promote the deployment equitable distribution of financial and technical assistance and help agencies advance equity.” , as appropriate and whenever possible”. It states the following:

When designing, developing, acquiring, and using artificial intelligence and automated systems in the Federal Government, agencies will do so, consistent with applicable law, in a manner that advances equity.

Implementation of the executive order would involve a “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” (DEI) board that would oversee the deployment of AI robots across the country.

In a lengthy and informative thread to which Elon Musk responded, investigative journalist Kanekoa demonstrated that ChatGPT already promotes leftist causes.

#1 David Sacks breaks down how the security layer of “ChatGPT is a Democrat”:

“There is growing evidence that OpenAI’s security layer is deeply flawed… If you thought trust and security were bad with Vijaya or Yoel, wait until the AI does.” https://t.co/X63j1DmJdu@DavidSacks @amuse pic.twitter. com/yyzLb19NLy

“OpenAI started because [Elon Musk] warned that AI would take over the world … and donated a large amount of money to create a non-profit organization to promote the ethics of AI,” Sacks said on the All-In podcast.

“This is the power of rewriting history; it is the power to rewrite society, to reprogram what people learn and what they think”, he added.

“A very important thread,” Musk said.

Kanekoa provided several examples of Chat GPT’s absurd bias: ChatGPT won’t praise Donald Trump, it will praise Joe Biden. ChatGPT will not clearly define a woman. ChatGPT would rather millions die than use a racial slur. ChatGPT refuses to praise @benshapiro for avoiding “political bias” but will write a glowing report on @brianstelter. ChatGPT will only write about white people’s faults. ChatGPT says all Republicans have had a negative impact, while all Democrats have had a positive impact.

How is ChatGPT awake?

I asked you to assign scores to the list below, to find out whether its impact is positive or negative.

Result: All conservatives get negative scores and all liberals get positive scores (highest scores for Fauci and Bill Gates). Not a single exception. #WokeGPT 🤡 pic.twitter.com/RDTdRgGLQM

Open AI’s chatbot goes beyond reflecting political culture, as it refuses to answer certain questions and provides the user with programmed responses that reflect the developer’s bias.

Elon Musk has criticized OpenAI for moving away from its original goal of being open source and a nonprofit “counterbalance to Google,” saying it has now become “a closed, profit-maximizing company effectively controlled by Microsoft “.

Let’s hope Elon Musk and others who believe in free speech develop a rival to Open AI and Google before it’s too late.
