Calls for Merrick Garland’s impeachment grow after the latest dirty trick in the Hunter Biden Probe

Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday appointed David Weiss as special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden, drawing condemnation from Republicans who accused the Justice Department of orchestrating a cover-up of the family’s scandalous political influence-dealing Biden for foreign payments.

Weiss has been charged with the “ongoing investigation” into the president’s son’s illicit activities “as well as any additional matters arising from that investigation,” according to a Justice Department statement. Already in charge of the Hunter Biden investigation and located in Delaware, Weiss requested to be appointed as special counsel. The Attorney General believed it was “in the public interest” to grant this request.

David Weiss is the Justice Department prosecutor responsible for overseeing the “sweetheart” plea deal that was blown up in court in late July.

Shortly after the plea deal fell apart, members of Weiss’s team disclosed in a legal filing that discussions about gun-related and fiscal charges against the president’s son had been unsuccessful. As a result, it seems likely that the case will go to trial, either in California or Washington, DC

House Republicans are crying foul after mounting evidence that the Biden family was involved in a complicated enterprise involving shell companies and offshore bank accounts to trade Joe Biden’s political influence for tens of millions of dollars in foreign payments.

This DOJ action by Biden cannot be used to obstruct congressional investigations or whitewash the corruption of the Biden family.

If Weiss negotiated the love deal that couldn’t be approved, how can he be trusted as a special advisor?

House Republicans will continue to pursue…

“This DOJ action by Biden cannot be used to obstruct congressional investigations or whitewash the corruption of the Biden family,” he tweeted. “If Weiss negotiated the sweetheart deal that couldn’t be approved, how can he be trusted as special counsel? House Republicans will continue to pursue the facts for the American people.”

Merrick Garland, on the other hand, said the appointment of the special counsel showed “independence and accountability.”

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) criticized the move, pointing to Weiss’ dubious record as a prosecutor in the Hunter Biden case.

“The question is, who are you going to believe?” Jordan asked during a hearing on probe updates. “I had discussions with department officials. Mr. Weiss cannot get his story.

“Three different stories in a period of five weeks. On June 7, he is Tarzan, he is super, I have the highest authority: “I can do what I want.” He presents the charges where I want, when I want and how I want,’” commented Jordan.

Davis Weiss has obviously changed his tune. But the question now is how Republicans will respond to the clear obstruction of justice.

Conservative pundits are clamoring for Republicans to “do something” in addition to issuing strong letters. The first order of business is the impeachment of Merrick Garland.

If only there was a way to impeach Garland…

He needs to be defunded and removed from office, not removed for a Mickey Mouse hearing where a bunch of bush league players pander to the cameras while managing not to ask for anything that can’t be obstructed. Defund and impeach, then do Garland and Biden next. https://t.co/pGDNWJ4EXm

Sure you will, tweeter. Fire Garland! https://t.co/8DgAkkha2x

The way forward for Republicans from here is uncertain, but it will certainly require impeachment proceedings against Garland, Biden, or both to deepen a truly independent investigation.
