Biden’s niece tried to negotiate a Chinese deal as a government official

In the latest revelation from the Biden family, a new report has just been released showing that Joe Biden’s niece sent a secret message to Hunter Biden about a Chinese trade deal while working in the Obama administration.

Casey Owens was a Treasury official while his uncle was Vice President. This further shows that there was a major conflict of interest and other shenanigans that likely occurred while Biden was in the nation’s second-highest office. The family is now under increased scrutiny for its connections to China and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Owens shared tips with Hunter Biden about China’s largest sovereign wealth fund, which he then sought out as a potential investment opportunity, according to the “laptop from hell” emails.

“Casey Owens, the daughter of first sister Valerie Biden Owens, notified her cousin and business partners at the now-defunct Rosemont Seneca Advisors about an investment conference held by the China Investment Corporation (CIC) while working as Special Assistant to the US Dept. China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, email dated April 12, 2010 New York Post reported

“FYI regarding CIC’s recent investment conference at a resort in Sanya on Hainan Island over the weekend of March 27-28,” Owens reportedly wrote to Hunter Biden and his then-partner Eric Schwerin from your official Treasury email account. He also sent a text containing a article by AsianInvestor.com.

“The conference was presented as a ‘coming out’ party for the sovereign fundwho had hundreds of billions of dollars, after a strong return on his international investments the previous year, according to the piece,” the New York Post continued.

Hunter Biden posed for photos with CIC CEO and Chief Investment Officer Gao Xiqing a few days earlier after meeting him, according to a 2020 report. report. This report was prepared by Senate Republicans.

According to an April 12, 2010 press release from Boston investment advisory firm Thornton Group, Hunter Biden, who was the chairman of Rosemont Seneca, “visited Chinese financial institutions and fund companies from 7 April 9, with the aim of further deepening mutual understanding and exploring the possibility of commercial cooperation and opportunity”.

An article in the Owens High School Alumni Magazine, Tower Hill Bulletin, noted that he went to China the following month as part of an American delegation led by then-Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. This article notes that the US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue team “worked very closely” with Vice Finance Minister Zhu Guangyao.

“Months later, Owens shared a Bloomberg News article highlighting a ‘record year’ for CIC after the 2008 financial crisis and reached out to another Rosemont Seneca associate to discuss coordination between the companies sponsored by the government (GSE) and China,” The New York Post noted.

“For our conversation about GSE and China, I wanted to get in touch Hunter’s cousin, Casey Owens, who is at the Treasury Department and works on the Strategic Economic Dialogue,” Schwerin wrote in an Aug. 4, 2010, email to his partner, Jack Casey. “I have cc:ed Casey in this email. Feel free to contact her directly, she looks forward to hearing from you.

“Jack, happy to talk at your convenience,” Owens replied. The exchange was also forwarded to Hunter Biden.

The original story of the emails between Owens, Hunter Biden and their associates was reported by Fox News. A source told the outlet that Rosemont Seneca had been potentially pursuing CIC to invest in its clients.

Hunter Biden was brought on board a year later by Schwerin and Rosemont Seneca co-founder Devon Archer.

“Let’s discuss today what else we can do connect with these groups,” Archer said in response to the March 8, 2011 email. He also noted an upcoming meeting they had scheduled with CIC on April 21.

Owens also apparently emailed his uncle while he was vice president, according to communications from Hunter Biden’s laptop. An email says she was “deeply” affected by the “unbelievable” remarks the vice president made to her Treasury team.

“This was really something else, Uncle Joe. What a way to get out of the Treasury,” he said in an email on May 10, 2011, written to a pseudonymous email address titled [email protected] according to the New York Post.

“I’m almost embarrassed by the depth it hit me today. I’m just happy to be around you, and I just wanted to say thank you for including me,” she stated.

“Two years later, Rosemont and Thornton would form the private equity fund BHR Partners with two Chinese entities linked to the state-owned Bank of China,” the New York Post noted.

While still vice president, Biden “had coffee” with BHR Partners CEO Jonathan Li that same year. That was the year Hunter Biden put his father on the phone with the executive, according to Devon Archer.

“Owens got his job in the Department of Finance shortly after her uncle took over as veep and she stayed there for two years before leaving to move up the corporate ranks at Starbucks, where she currently works as a vice president, according to her LinkedIn profile,” the New York Post reported.
