Bewildered left-wing entertainer Bette Midler has a bad habit of putting into practice the old adage that it's better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove any doubt.
Perhaps having overdosed on MSNBC a little too much, Midler took to X to ask, “Can you imagine what would have happened if Hillary Clinton had claimed the election was stolen?”

Note that Clinton invented the entire Russian collusion narrative that was used to go after President Donald Trump after the 2016 election. The failed 2016 Democratic presidential candidate has also been very vocal about how they went stealing the election as a result of Russian interference, arguing that Trump was not “an illegitimate president.”
“You can run the best campaign, you can even become the candidate, and the election can be stolen from you,” he said until 2020.
Midler may have been motivated by Sen. Marco Rubio's appearance on NBC's “Meet the Press.”
NBC anchor Kristin Welker asked Rubio if he would accept the results of the 2024 election, regardless of who won, and he replied, “I think you're asking the wrong person. The Democrats are the ones who have opposed every Republican victory since 2000. Every single one”.
The Florida Republican proceeded to accurately point out that Hillary Clinton said the 2016 election was “stolen” from her while Welker furiously repeated that Clinton conceded.
“Hillary Clinton said she was robbed of the election and Trump was illegitimate,” Rubio reminded him.
Either way, Midler's tweet was so thoroughly stupid that the reaction online was pure disbelief, mixed with a whole lot of profanity.
