Oakland's priorities look very complicated when the city slaps a 102-year-old wheelchair-bound man with hefty fines after thugs spray-painted his house.
It was decided by municipal officials fine the old man because he couldn't remove the graffiti or afford to pay someone to do it for him. The focus was not on those who committed the crime, but on Victor Silva, Sr., who suffered vandalism to his property.
Silva has paid taxes in the crime city for more than 80 years. Now, he faces the threat of a $1,100 fine for someone else's crime.
“The violation citation required the paint to be removed by Tuesday the 19th and an additional fine would be added for each failed inspection in the future,” daily mail reported

“It was so absurd, it's like a joke. If you drive around town and you see graffiti everywhere, I just don't know what to say,” said Silva's daughter-in-law, Elena. KTVU.
When Silva was younger and not in a wheelchair, he just painted over the graffiti every time he passed the fence behind his Oakland home. He can't do it easily anymore, but he's trying.
“I only had a roller and a brush and I just painted them. It was very easy because I was a contractor,” he explained according to the Daily Mail.
“I'll be 103 in two months or so. That slowed it down a bit, you know,” Silva mused.
I'm a painter in SoCal. I just had a cancellation last night. I will drive and paint this for him if he and the city don't mind beige.

In a very sad turn of events, his 70-year-old son now has to paint over the graffiti.
“It's hard to keep up because as soon as we paint it, it goes back to graphite and it doesn't last,” Silva Jr. commented.
“road up of Silva's house, a large utility box is also covered with six different types of graffiti. The utility box has no owner, except the city, to be threatened with charges,” wrote the Daily Mail wryly.
Adding insult to injury, that of the Silva family commercial business in Oakland it has been split three times in the past year.
“During a hit-and-run, Silva Jr. trapped a person inside the store and called 911. “And I put myself on hold every time,” he said. “So it's hard to understand where our money goes from taxes They can't answer 911, but they can go out and bother you with a fence?'” he asked.

Silva was asked how he managed to get to 103 and replied: “Very easy. Just keep breathing and, you know, behave yourself.”
“I would hate to think that there [are] other centenarians who are being harassed like this. Oakland needs to change. The system does not work”, he commented.
Oakland is known for its rampant crime that has spiraled out of control in recent years under Democratic leadership. Many shops in the city have permanently closed their doors.
“Recently, Taco Bell locations in Oakland were forced to close and switch to cashless and drive-thru payments only. The decision came after the chain was hit by a string of burglaries amid a relentless rise in crime in the city,” the Daily Mail noted.

A city is torn apart when it starts going after people who can't even walk, while criminals go free and crimes go unpunished.

This is why companies are leaving Oakland.
Not because of this man or because of the graffiti.
But because of Oakland @MayorShengThao I'd rather prosecute an old white man for what criminals did to his property than prosecute the criminals who actually did the graffiti.

This old Kulak deserves it. His job is to clean up after city-sanctioned street thugs rampage through his neighborhood. If he can't do that, he should have his property confiscated and spend the rest of his days in a gulag.
