As the Democratic National Convention begins in Chicago, the event is already marked by heated confrontations. The latest altercation involves vocal Kamala Harris supporter Roland Martin and local Chicago activist Ja'Mal Green. That conflict began when Martin, a well-known host and former CNN contributor, took to X (formerly Twitter) and his show to insult Green, dismissing him as “dumb” for criticizing the latest policy Harris' home, he said. The Gateway Pundit.

Green, a passionate independent campaigner, previously questioned Harris' $25,000 down payment plan for first-time home buyers on social media. He expressed concern about the plan's true intentions, asking, “Someone wanna tell me what the 'first generation' code is for? lol. Notice the cryptic words used to show us what's their agenda. Yet you literally have black people acting like democrats prioritize you when you have the lowest home ownership rate in the country at 44%. How to stop!”

Martin responded and said, “Are you that dumb, Ja'mal Green? If blacks have the lowest home ownership rates, that means first-time buyer incentives will attract blacks. Are you that clueless?”

Green wasn't about to let that slide. He showed up at the DNC with one mission: to confront Martin head-on. After the encounter, Green tweeted: “LOL Roland Martin called me all kinds of names yesterday on Twitter and on his show and ran away from me today.” She described how Martin, in what can only be called a display of fear, pushed a woman between them as she called for security.

“I've never seen a more scared man in my life. Keep my name out of your mouth, I want all the smoke!” Green stated. He went on to criticize Martin further, saying: “He had a woman protect him after he talked crazy to me. I could have had a conversation as a man.”

In another post, Green vowed to oppose what he described as “Black Democrats like Roland Martin,” who he believes do not respect young voices who speak the truth. Green made it clear that he would not tolerate disrespect from someone who, in his words, is a “provocateur paid for by the Democrats.” He added: “I am a grown man with 3 children, there is no man who comes after me without being provoked and checked.”

Green also used the moment to criticize the state of Chicago under Democratic leadership, pointing out the city's problems that have been conveniently glossed over during the DNC. From the city's migrant crisis and violence to its high unemployment rate, Green highlighted the harsh realities Chicagoans face on a daily basis. He sarcastically welcomed Democrats to the city, saying, “We have a very beautiful city that is plagued by bad leadership. Enjoy your stay, eat at some of our great restaurants and party at our best bars and clubs. One thing that we know how to do well is to have a good time WELCOME TO CHICAGO!”
