Since her effective confirmation as the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, the mainstream media has attempted to eradicate previous claims and attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris.
The media have previous reports removed on Harris' left-wing views, descriptions of her as a “border czar” as Politico claimed her anti-fracking stance it was an “allegation”.

On Wednesday, July 31, the Associated Press became the latest outlet to attempt to alter the story when it reported on Donald Trump's appearance before the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago.
After a question about whether the Republican nominee believed Harris was the Democratic nominee “because she's a black woman,” Trump said he “didn't know” she was black because of her previous ethnic claims.
“She was always of Indian heritage and she only promoted Indian heritage,” Trump replied. “I didn't know she was black until a few years ago, when she turned black.”
“Now she wants to be known as black,” Trump continued before adding that his presidential rival “obviously doesn't” respect any race because of his contradictory claims.

The The Associated Press stated the former president “falsely suggested” that Harris had misled voters about her race.
