Dem strategist says CNN host Harris will be 'defined' by ad spending, so he doesn't need to do interviews

Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky told CNN anchor Kate Bolduan on Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris doesn't need to do interviews because she will spend money on ads to craft her own message.

Harris hasn't sat for one interview since launching his presidential campaign after President Joe Biden Abandoned and endorsed her to take her place on July 21. Roginsky on “CNN News Central” told Bolduan's typical Americans that they don't mind Harris not doing interviews, and that he shouldn't face scrutiny for avoiding them after the host went say the Republican senator. . JD Vance of Ohio has been attacking the vice president on this issue.

I WILL SEE:

“This is something that … you all care about as reporters, you want to sit with it, but the truth is when I'm sitting around my dinner table thinking about how to pay for college for my son or how pay my mortgage or any of my taxes,” Roginsky began to say, with Bolduan interrupting to say that “Harris' positions have changed.”

“Except he's going to spend his $300 million to define himself on TV and social media however he wants, right?” Roginsky continued. “And she will eventually sit down with you, I think. But the bottom line is that's not what should be going after her. She should be coming after her on positions that affect the regular people who are voting. If you're standing there saying, “Well, you're not sitting down for an interview,” the average person doesn't have time to sit around worrying about what Kamala Harris is doing, they just want to make sure she's doing something to help them .”

NewsNation host Leland Vittert confronted Harris' former associate attorney, Rachel Palermo, on Tuesday over the vice president's limited press appearances. Palermo did not respond directly, but said the vice president has given access to the media during her tenure, and Vittert said Harris “is a disaster” when he goes “off script.”

“They may not know that they care, but they should, because we're going to ask the questions that they have that they don't have access to to ask,” CNN political commentator SE Cupp told Roginsky. “And there's a difference between her putting out an ad that's all the things she wants to say and then being challenged on some things. And that ultimately benefits the voters, her own voters, who must know her very well and intimately what does he want to do.”
