The FBI has named Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the assailant in the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. The incident occurred Saturday at a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Crooks allegedly fired from a roof perch about 130 meters away, wounding Trump and causing chaos among attendees.
During the attack, a bullet struck the top of Trump's right ear as he addressed the audience. Tragically, one attendee was killed and two others were injured. The FBI confirmed that Crooks was shot and killed at the scene. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
