Police in Tustin, Calif., are investigating a robbery involving a U.S. Secret Service agent that took place on the same night as a high-profile fundraiser for President Joe Biden's re-election campaign.

On Saturday at 9:36 p.m., officers responded to a call reporting a possible burglary at the Tustin Field 1 residential community, a housing development located on a former military base in Orange County. Upon arrival, police found the victim, a Secret Service agent, who had been robbed of her purse at gunpoint. According to the police report, a shootout ensued between the officer and the alleged robber.

Details remain unclear about the number of suspects involved and the circumstances that led to the shooting. This incident happened while President Biden and former President Barack Obama were attending a fundraiser at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Authorities have not yet identified or arrested the suspect or suspects. Police are looking for a silver 2004-06 Infiniti FX35 or a similar vehicle that was seen fleeing the scene. It is unknown if the suspects were injured during the incident. Some of the victim's belongings were recovered nearby, but specific details have not been released.
