Two gunmen suspected of being Venezuelan illegal aliens carried out a brazen carjacking of an off-duty NYPD officer in Harlem Friday night, law enforcement sources said.

The officer was attacked while sitting in his personal 2020 BMW at West 146th Street and Bradhurst Avenue as the two suspects, with tattoos linked to a Venezuelan gang, approached him with guns drawn around at 11:30 p.m.

Following a threat, one of the assailants disarmed the officer and demanded his car keys before fleeing the scene in the stolen vehicle, disappearing into the night.

The robbery involved a firearm equipped with a Glock switch, which allowed it to fire fully automatic rounds, a rarity in New York City.

With the help of the officer's iPad signal, law enforcement was able to locate the empty stolen vehicle at West 138th Street and Broadway.

After an extensive search of the area, the suspects were located and arrested, with two firearms recovered from the scene.

Although the men were identified as Jomar Crespo, 21, and Jose Rivera, 20, who shared an address in Waterbury, Conn., law enforcement authorities suspect the names provided may be fake.

Rivera and Crespo face charges including burglary, auto theft, possession of a machine gun, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of stolen property, modification of weapons for rapid fire and unlawful possession of an ammunition feeding device.

This incident marks the second recent attack on the NYPD involving illegal aliens, after a 19-year-old with ties to a Venezuelan gang shot two officers in another incident in June.

One of the alleged perpetrators, Bernardo Raul Castro Mata, who crossed into the US illegally in July via Texas, confessed to being recruited by a violent Venezuelan gang in the city and encouraged to show loyalty through distinctive tattoos.
