Tragically, these poor people are not content to just wreck their own lives; they also seem determined to destroy their children’s future. That’s exactly what unfolded recently in Texas, where a pair of no-nonsense parents decided to use “meth” as a pain reliever for their one-year-old son. As expected, they are now in custody and facing charges.
Throw the book at them.
A Texas couple has been arrested after allegedly injecting their 1-year-old daughter with methamphetamine to help ease her pain after she was severely burned with boiling water, RadarOnline.com has learned.
On Nov. 5, Amanda Mann, 31, and Dustin Lawrence, 30, were arrested and charged with child endangerment, child endangerment with risk of bodily injury, injury to a child and four counts of willfully abandon/endanger a child, such as Front. Page detectives reported.
At a press conference, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said five other children were found in the couple’s “filthy” trailer.
When they first spoke to police, the couple claimed the girl burned herself in a hot shower. Mann later said the injuries were actually caused by boiling water from the stove, but it was unclear whether the girl knocked the pot down or one of her parents threw it on top of her. said Salazar.
The alleged incident took place during the night of November 3, and Mann and Lawrence refused to take the boy to the hospital. Instead, she was treated with cheap burn ointment and meth, officials alleged.
The girl fell asleep through the night, but when the parents removed the sheets covering her in the morning, the child’s skin fell off, Salazar said.
During the night of November 4, the parents called a family friend, who suggested taking the baby to the hospital for treatment. The couple left the baby at the medical center and then left, authorities said.
The two reprehensible parents were arrested on November 5, and the details that have emerged are even more chilling. During a search of her home, authorities found 2-month-old twins who were apparently born in the family’s trailer without any medical attention. They also found three other children: two, six and eight years old. Surprisingly, the couple had left the 8-year-old in charge of caring for all the younger children.
It’s unthinkable. Ghouls like these should never be allowed to walk free again.
