Barack Obama shows up at golf with black eye and bandaged hand after death of personal chef

The mystery surrounding the death of Tafari Campbell, a friend and personal chef to Barack Obama, continues to deepen as the former president showed up to golf at the members-only Vineyards Club on Friday with a black eye and a bandaged hand.

Barack Obama hit the links while former first lady Michele Obama played tennis elsewhere on the property. The photos clearly show a bruise or “black eye” under Barack’s left eye, as well as a bandaged hand. The former president is known to have wrapped his hand around playing golf before, thus dispelling some mystery.

However, photos of the former president fueled speculation about his whereabouts at the time of Campbell’s death.

Happening Now: Just days after his chef and personal friend died in a very mysterious paddle-surfing accident, Barack Obama appears to have injured fingers and a black eye.

We still don’t know who the other person was and Obama loves paddle. I think we all can… pic.twitter.com/trqiSl9LSH

“[J]Just days after his chef and personal friend died in a very mysterious paddle boarding accident, Barack Obama appears to have injured his fingers and a black eye,” commented Travis from Flint. “We still don’t know who it was the other person and Obama loves paddle. I think we can all guess what happened at this point!”

Unfortunately, it is unclear what role, if any, Barack Obama played in the circumstances surrounding Campbell’s death.

After initial reports indicated that Barack Obama was not at his estate at the time of his death, later reports clarified that he was indeed on Martha’s Vineyard.

Police have fueled speculation by hiding the reason for the 911 call, changing the location of the call and refusing to identify a second paddler and the alleged woman who made the call.

Tafari, 45, met with the accident while paddling at Great Edgartown Pond last Sunday night. The emergency call reporting his fall and subsequent struggle to get back up was made at 7:46 p.m. Although this call was recorded in Edgartown Police Department records, the reason for the call was left unspecified. Instead, the reasons for all the other calls from the same night were detailed.

The person who was paddleboarding with the Obamas’ personal chef when he drowned near their Martha’s Vineyard estate had desperately tried to save him, officials said.

The unidentified fellow paddleboarder tried to swim to Tafari Campbell, 45, but “didn’t reach him in time,” Massachusetts State Police said in a statement, MassLive reported.

The person, who saw Campbell lose his balance and fall into the water, swam to shore and alerted someone who then called 911, according to the report.

Emergency dispatchers on Martha’s Vineyard also noted that the original 911 call was made by a woman who was on a boat, presumably looking for Campbell, at 8:18 p.m.

The identity of that woman is unknown, as is whether she was with Campbell on the paddleboard.

The source of the call is also marked as Wilson’s Landing — a paddleboard launch area located about two miles from the Obamas’ Turkeyland Cove residence — contradicting Massachusetts State Police’s claim that the first call originated from there.

Barack Obama is known to be an avid boater, as numerous reports have noted. In 2022, for example, Obama went paddleboarding in Hawaii with Secret Service protection and an $84 shark-deterrent ankle bracelet.

While no one is directly accusing Barack Obama of foul play, there are questions about what and when the former president knew of Campbell’s death.
