Although the original series is coming to an end, a spin-off has been in development for some time. Several key cast members are expected to appear, but no lead actor has yet been set.
Earlier rumors suggested that Matthew McConaughey might take the lead role, but nothing has been confirmed.
Now, it looks like another legendary actor might take the helm.
Jeff Sneider reported (via JoBlo) that the renowned “Miracle” actor is “circling a role in the project.” While nothing is official, adding Russell would be an excellent addition to the “Yellowstone” universe.
One thing is for sure, Sheridan needs a big star to anchor the spin-off. While having original cast members is beneficial, an A-list actor is needed to fill the void left by Kevin Costner after his departure from the show.
And if you're Sheridan and your choices are Matthew McConaughey or Kurt Russell, it seems you can't go wrong.
