Former White House official David Axelrod made headlines when he posed a question on social media about former President Donald Trump's campaign strategy.
Former President Obama's longtime adviser has criticized the Biden campaign in recent days, calling President Joe Biden “dangerously out of touch” last week after he dismissed concerns about his health affecting the his candidacy for re-election. In a Monday X post, Axelrod questioned why the Trump campaign has remained “unusually” silent on Biden amid the barrage of criticism he was buried under after the debate.
“Trump isn't talking much about Biden's bad debate. Trump's campaign isn't running ads about it. And Lara Trump said last week it would be an affront to democracy if Biden wasn't the nominee,” Axelrod wrote. “Question: Why do you think they are holding fire in an unusual way?”

Trump attacked Biden in a Truth Social post just days after the two faced off at the CNN debate in Atlanta, GA.
“Torn Joe Biden should ignore his many critics and move forward, nimbly and forcefully, with his powerful and far-reaching campaign,” Trump. said in a publication.
“He has to be sharp, precise and energetic,” the presumptive GOP nominee added. “Yes, Sleepy Joe should continue his campaign of American destruction and, MAKE CHINA GREAT AGAIN!”
Axelrod has dismissed as “irrelevant” the chorus of calls for Biden to drop out of the race, but criticized Biden's attitude.
“The president is proud of his record. But he is dangerously out of touch with the concerns people have about his abilities to move forward and his standing in this race,” Axelrod wrote to X. “Years ago at this time, he was 10 points ahead of Trump. He's six points behind today.”
Biden “isn't winning this race,” he said Sunday.
“If you just look at the data and talk to people across the country, political people across the country, he's more likely to lose by a landslide than he's going to narrowly win this race,” Axelrod said. “And if the stakes are as high as he says, and I think they are, then he really needs to consider what is the right thing to do here.”
A former chairman of the House GOP campaign arm believes Trump's strategy is simply to let Biden sabotage his own campaign.
“When your opponent is blowing up, don't interrupt. … There's no reason to insert yourself into that conversation,” said former Rep. Steve Stivers (R-OH). the hill. “Discipline is smart about it, and it's done a good job at it.”
“No one in the Democratic Party cares what Trump thinks if Biden is the nominee, so why talk,” he continued. “I'm glad to see that he has learned from 2020, because then he was not very disciplined. I think it speaks to him learning from the past.”
Other X users gave Axelrod many answers to his questions about social media.

Because the Democratic Party is completely losing their shit over their senile candidate who is a guaranteed loser in November and refuses to resign.
Why would they want to interfere with that, Dave?

Never interfere with an enemy who is in the process of destroying himself.

@davidaxelrod: Trump and his campaign have the luxury of sitting back, relaxing and watching you in the press and a few Democrats eat Biden for breakfast, lunch and dinner during their first debate. You guys have been doing the work for Trump.
