“Women react to this kind of thing”

Stuart Varney took exception to former President Donald Trump referring to Vice President Kamala Harris as “dumb.”

The Fox Business host questioned the “insulting” language Trump has used to talk about Harris, asking Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT) whether the former president should consider dialing back his rhetoric.

“This is anecdotal, but I've heard a lot of news from women. They're not happy with what Trump has said and the language he's using about Kamala Harris, it's insulting,” Varney said. “Should he tone down his language?”

Owens responded with an attempt to discuss policy rather than Trump's tone.

“Let's look at the message. Are we trying to get our country back on track and stop what's happening at the border? Are we trying to stop the rape and murder of Americans across the country?

The host came back in to direct the conversation back to Kamala.

“But wait a second, Congressman,” he said. “I've been out and about over the weekend. And when Donald Trump called Kamala Harris 'stupid,' that was a profound mistake, in my opinion. Women react to that kind of thing, and so should they— ho! I mean, don't you think you should tone down the language, okay, by all means tone down the language. He said, “I won't be nice”. I think it's a mistake'”.

Varney is likely referring to a Truth Social post Trump made last week in which he called the vice president “dumb as a rock.”

Wow, just looking at the fake news, and they are doing everything they can to turn the worst president in our country's history into a “brilliant and heroic leader” (he was heroic because he resigned!), and to become ” dumb! as a rock” Kamala Harris from a totally failed vice president to a future “great” president. No, it just doesn't work that way!

“Well, what you're seeing with Donald Trump, that's who he is, he's a fighter,” Owens responded. “I mean, look at how he responded to that assassination attempt. How many people are going to stand up and do what he did at that time? So we have to take Donald Trump for who he is, he's a fighter. He's very strong. And I'm telling you right now, Americans are looking for strength, and yes, it may not go as well as people want, but we want to win or we just want to have people, I mean, they'll say anything that's good, but then they're going to cut your head off at any moment?”

“I'll tell you what, the worst thing we can do is vote for a good Kamala Harris because she's going to destroy our nation because her policies are un-American. So let's get America first, okay, let's get our country back in the next four years, and then we can move on to someone who is nice and won't say the things that President Trump sometimes says,” Owens. he concluded.
