Meta (Facebook) doesn’t like applying absolute blocks to links. Instead, they allow links to be posted, but algorithmically limit their reach in a way that is invisible to most users.
I want to be as clear as I can be: for all its flaws, Facebook censorship usually does not extend to direct link blocks.
There is only one political website for which Facebook directly blocks links being shared (to my knowledge), across all of its social and messaging platforms…including private conversations with friends on Messenger or WhatsApp.
And that blocked site is patriots.win.
Facebook DOES NOT block:
4chan 8kun Gab Banned.video InfoWars Kiwifarms Odysee Gettr Talk Truth Social Rumble DonaldJTrump.com
appeal
Last year we tried to turn the block upside down. We went through several layers of Facebook support but we got to the highest level and they all refused to override it.
legal way
We also looked at the legal route last year. Ultimately, we wanted the ban lifted, but we were at least looking to find out why we were banned and what steps we could take to stay within their rules.
The response was, again, that we would not be unblocked and that there would be no further information.
In fact, here’s the exact response from Facebook’s legal representatives:
My company represents Meta Platforms, Inc (“Meta”). […] We confirm that the Patriots.Win domain has been banned for violating Facebook policies and will not be restored. We appreciate your understanding as this decision is final.
So what is going on here?
This is not the .win TLD.
There are plenty of .win domains that aren’t blocked, and there are also sites with equally uncommon top-level domains like 8kun(.)top that aren’t blocked.
This is not offensive content.
We’re certainly not the most forgiving site on the list above. We are not even a free speech site; it is literally not possible to be an exclusive forum for MAGA/Trump supporters, and also a free speech site.
Also, the allegation against us when you try to send a patriots.win link to a meta platform is: “Posts that appear to be spam according to our community guidelines are blocked.”
conclusion
We are at a dead end when it comes to unblocking Facebook.
They have claimed time and time again that we are blocked for unknown reasons and there is no way around it, but I thought that in this era of social media outages, it was the right time to raise this issue again and ask why Does Facebook just block us directly?
