CNN's Jake Tapper called out leftists for using a vulgar slur to discredit vice presidential candidate JD Vance.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz hit back at a disgusting and false claim that former President Donald Trump's vice president had once been “intimate” with a couch. The lie, generated by an X user, was not contained anywhere in Vance's book, but that didn't stop leftists from gleefully sharing it. That didn't sit well with Tapper, who asked his guests on Wednesday's episode of “The lead.”
“So let me ask you a question because there's this: I hesitate to even bring this up, but this is online dirt on JD Vance that includes sofas, okay, and the only reason I'm quoting it because Governor Walz made a reference to it during his introductory speech yesterday,” he said, playing a clip of Walz.
“And I've got to tell you, I can't wait to debate the guy. That's if he's willing to get off the couch and run,” the governor said to cheers from the crowd.
“A clear reference to this dirty disgrace. So I mean, what happened with Michelle Obama when they go down, do we go higher?” the host asked political strategist Shermichael Singleton.
“I think the Democrats abandoned that a long time ago,” he admitted. “Look, I understand. Politics is a brutal sport. This is like a boxing match and we're trying to see if we can get the knockout first and they're trying to do the same, and see what happens in November, Jake. But I'm not surprised.”
“What do you think?” Tapper asked Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross.
“I love Michelle Obama, but she's not in this race,” he said. “They are running against Donald J. Trump, who continues to descend, deeper, crazier. We've seen it all at Truth Social. I don't know who Kambala is. I don't know why he's pretending like we're going to see Joe Biden walk out of something at the DNC and we're going to be the nominee again.
“This campaign is measured by the type they're up against, and the ground game is extremely strong,” he continued. “And I think to try to compare that to somebody who would never run, who wouldn't run, and something he said to try to calm some of the aggression that we saw from the right, doesn't make sense.”
“So you guys go further down? Is it fair to ask?” Singleton asked.
“No, we meet, we meet the energy where it's at,” Cross replied.
