Former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy issued a warning this week about the “harsh realities” of the 2024 presidential race.
In a tweet published Thursday, he urged Republicans to “wake up to some harsh realities, fast,” lest they inadvertently cost themselves the 2024 presidential race.
For example, he called on Republicans to call on President Joe Biden to resign or be forced out.
“This alone will give Kamala every advantage of running as the sitting President of the United States,” he wrote, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris. “And she won't be better for America in the next 5 months than Biden will be.”
Time for our side to wake up to some harsh realities, fast:
1. Stop asking Biden to resign or be forced to. This alone will give Kamala all the benefits of running as the sitting US President. And he won't be better for America in the next 5 months than Biden…

Speaking afterwards with Fox Newslater exposed this harsh reality.
“Kamala Harris is unproven as a political leader, let alone as president of the United States,” he said. “Why put her in a position as president of the United States with all the benefits of incumbency? The Oval Office is aimed, God forbid, even at changing politics or foreign policy, so that it can create circumstances to make her look better. This is one of the advantages that many sitting presidents, the sad truth, have used throughout American history.”
Ramaswamy added that Republicans calling for the president's resignation is a perfect “example” of Republicans being “reactive,” which he argued ends up “hurting our chances instead of helping us.”
“It's not going to be good for America and it's not going to be good for Republican electoral prospects if Kamala Harris is the president of the United States of America for even a short period of time, not even a minute,” he said. “I don't think that's something we should want, and it doesn't make sense and that's why I called it out.”
Continuing his tweet, Ramaswamy fired back at Republicans who have been attacking Harris, who is now running instead of Biden, “for locking up too many people as prosecutor.”
“It lends credence to the otherwise ludicrous claim that she is a candidate for law and order,” she wrote, which, she later told Fox News, she certainly isn't.
“[The] policies he has supported [include] clean out the prisons, defund the police,” he said. “This has led to a rampant crime wave in this country. The people of the United States of America, across the aisle and across both camps, are squarely confronted by this crime wave.”

Ramaswamy's tweet concluded with him urging Republicans to “[s]above saying that Kamala covered up Biden's declining health to help Biden, while also saying that Kamala staged a coup to unseat Biden.
“It doesn't make sense for a lot of independent voters to say those two things at the same time,” he told Fox News. “They're self-contracting. And if we say things that don't make sense, we're more likely to lose votes, which is what matters most to me.”
“So I'm back to the basics. That's not how we're going to win this election. We're not going to win this election by picking up these 'inside the baseball' political criticisms of Kamala. It doesn't matter. The voters don't care,” he added.
Speaking to Fox News, he stressed that Harris herself is not the “biggest risk” Republicans have in this election cycle. Rather, it's the “Democratic side jobs” that should be concerned.
“Voters don't love Kamala Harris on her own terms,” he said. “We know that because even when he was running in the Democratic primary, he didn't even make it to the Iowa caucuses.”
“I was an unknown 37-year-old businessman who ran for President of the United States for the first time last year. I have more delegates supporting me for the presidency of the United States than he has ever had Kamala Harris. That's because voters don't find her compelling. So it's not like Kamala Harris is our biggest risk,” he added.
And finally, he warned Republicans not to get complacent and underestimate Harris' ability to win.
“You have to compete like you're behind, or you'll be behind soon,” he said. “We are not facing any candidate. It's not Kamala. It's not Joe. It's not any other individual candidate.”
“We are facing a machine and the more we understand it, we have formidable adversaries. Let's take stock of some worrying realities. Republicans have suffered devastating defeats relative to expectations in 2018, 2020 and 2022,” he added.
