On a recent episode of The Dan Bongino Show, Dan Bongino and Greg Gutfeld looked at the tendency of liberals to embrace extreme views while rejecting common sense positions. Their conversation highlighted how unchecked compassion and empathy among liberals can lead to endorsement of radical ideas.
Bongino praised Gutfeld's comments on The Five, noting, “Gutfeld has just been tearing it up lately on The Five. I know Greg, but I haven't talked about it at all. I promise, he doesn't like to send clips me backstage or anything like that. I've known Greg for a long time, and the only thing about Gutfeld is when his shit meter is set, you can tell The Five.”

He continued: “In this clip, he tells Jessica something that should be obvious to you. Liberal nut bags, you were supporting things that parents, workers and people with dirt on their fingernails think that they're ridiculous. You can keep fighting about it, but we laugh at you all the time.”
In the clip, Gutfeld criticized liberals for extending their empathy to those who exploit innocent citizens. “So liberals, in the best sense, are the party of empathy and compassion. The problem is that they extend that benefit to people who take advantage of innocent citizens. That's their problem,” Gutfeld said. .
He questioned why liberals feel the need to defend radical positions such as “rioters and looters” and “surgical transitions for children”, suggesting they should not be defended as part of liberal ideology. “You don't have to sit here and defend tampons for kids. You could just say, 'You know what? There's nothing liberal about that,'” Gutfeld added.
Bongino agreed with Gutfeld's analysis, emphasizing the failure of liberals to distance themselves from extreme viewpoints. “The problem is that they are unable to reject their crazy people. They are absolutely incapable of rejecting their crazy, because it is the source of their power,” said Bongino.
He compared conservatism to liberalism, noting: “The Conservative Club requires no leap of insanity. Well, what do you believe in to be a Conservative, to join the Club? There's a sign on the door. Check those boxes .we believe in the lowest possible taxes so we can have a growing economy; that's not crazy; Americans should be able to choose where their kids go to school. That doesn't sound crazy. We probably shouldn't kill a bunch of kids. That sounds good to me. We believe in the nuclear family, not in the government. That sounds good judicial system and a basically limited government. There is nothing crazy about it. Everything liberals believe in is the opposite.”
Bongino stated that these conservative principles are straightforward and not radical, contrasting them with the more extreme and contradictory positions that liberals are often forced to defend.
