The Washington Post has bent the knee and removed from its newspapers a cartoon mocking the murderous terrorist organization known as Hamas.
The Post pulled Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Michael Ramirez’s cartoon on Thursday after left-wing fanatics “woke up” to complain that the cartoon was somehow horribly offensive, racist, Islamophobic, etc.
As seen below, the cartoon only depicted a Hamas spokesman with Palestinian civilians attached to him complaining about Israel allegedly targeting civilians. The cartoon was clearly designed to mock Hamas for using civilians as human shields.
The Washington Post deleted and apologized for this editorial cartoon by Michael Ramirez.
Of course they did because:
1. is accurate
2. Jew-hating WaPo readers called the cartoon “racist,” “deeply malicious” and “full of bias and prejudice”

Yet despite the cartoon’s noble intent, the Post not only deleted it from its website, but also published a lengthy and lengthy apology to the public written by the paper’s opinion editor, David Shipley.
“A cartoon we published by Michael Ramírez about the war in Gaza, a cartoon whose publication I approved, was seen by many readers as racist. This was not my intention. I saw the cartoon as a caricature of a specific individual, the Hamas spokesman who celebrated attacks on unarmed civilians in Israel,” the apology says.
“However, the reaction to the image convinced me that I had missed something deep and divisive, and I regret it. Our section is about finding common ground, understanding the bonds that hold us together, even in the darkest of times,” he continues.
Concluding his apology, Shipley said the Post would not only remove the cartoon but also publish the criticism, including in the newspaper’s comments section.

The published reviews are as pro-Hamas as you might suspect.
“Michael Ramirez’s November 8 editorial cartoon depicting Hamas hostages with the Hamas character condemning Israeli attacks on civilians was full of bias and prejudice,” one critic wrote.
“I am a scholar of religion and media; I recognize a deeply racist depiction of the “pagan” and his barbaric cruelty to women and children when I see it again in Michael Ramirez’s editorial cartoon of November 8. It is in no way informative, helpful or stimulating to look at this conflict through the glasses of 19th century colonialists,” added another critic.
It is obviously “racist” to describe terrorists as “heathens”. Who knew?
“The cartoons used racial stereotypes that were offensive and disturbing. Depicting Arabs with exaggerated features and portraying women in stereotypical and derogatory roles perpetuates racism and gender bias, which is totally unacceptable,” lamented another critic.

The irony is that even Shipley’s apology drew criticism, with Post X viewers slamming the paper for doing “too little, too late.”

Ramirez’s work is well known and has been racist for decades. It’s totally unbelievable that you didn’t know. After reading your response where you claim you didn’t realize the cartoon was racist, it’s obvious you should resign for lack of judgment.

Again, as a reminder, all the Post did was run a cartoon mocking TERRORISTS.
Conservatives, meanwhile, were absolutely stunned by the paper’s decision to bend the knee and apologize for mocking terrorists.
“Imagine today’s WaPo if it existed during World War II, issuing a lengthy apology because some cartoonist mocked the Nazis. In retrospect, it would look so stupid,” a right-wing critic he tweeted.
“I’m sure if there’s a cartoon that portrays Christians or Jews in a bad light, they’d agree without a second thought,” another. he wrote.
