Sen. JD Vance, the GOP vice presidential nominee, has called for a genuine debate with his Democratic counterpart, Gov. Tim Walz. That challenge was raised during Vance's recent appearance on Fox News' “The Ingraham Angle,” where he revealed that CBS News had reached out to potential dates for the showdown. The network proposed September 17, September 24, October 1 and October 8 as options, it has reported The Gateway Pundit.
CBS News made its intentions clear on the social media platform X, stating: “Today, CBS News invited the two vice presidential candidates to participate in a debate in New York City. We offered the campaigns four dates as options: September 17, September 24, October 1 and October 8. We look forward to your responses and to offer voters the opportunity to hear directly from the vice presidential candidates.”

Not one to shy away from a challenge, Walz quickly responded to the invitation to X, stating, “See you on October 1st, JD.”

However, Vance is not interested in any debate. He is adamant that the format should allow for a clear and unfiltered exchange of ideas, without the typical biases associated with mainstream media settings. “We want to look at the debates, look at the moderators, talk a little bit about the rules,” Vance shared during his interview with Fox News.
While Vance is likely to participate in the Oct. 1 debate, he has one condition: It must be free of what he scornfully refers to as “fake news media garbage.” Vance insisted, “We're going to have a real debate, and if CBS agrees, we certainly will.”
The senator believes the multiple debates are crucial for the American people to see the stark differences between the two campaigns and understand the Republican vision for the nation's future. He stressed the need for public policies that prioritize border security, stemming the flow of dangerous drugs like fentanyl, and reducing the high cost of living.
“I think it's important for the American people to see us discuss our views. If you look at the way we've run this campaign, Donald Trump and I are giving every interview to the media. We're talking to every audience we can get in front of because our vision is very clear,” Vance stated confidently.
He added, “We don't believe hard-working, rule-abiding Americans should have to struggle to pay for groceries. We don't believe our children should be killed with fentanyl, and we have a vision for how to implement public policy that will ensure that border, they will reduce drugs and reduce the cost of everything from groceries to housing to reasonable levels.”
