Vivek Ramaswamy, the youngest Republican, sat down with Tucker Carlson for a wide-ranging interview this evening.
Ramaswamy discusses his controversial (to some) allegations that the government, the 9/11 Commission and the FBI lied about certain events, leading to demands for accountability.
“It is not good for the government to lie to us. In a democracy, it is poison and corrodes the system we revere: democracy.
But his main themes were declining public trust in government, the need for hard truths, and historic shifts in power dynamics.
“We will have an account. I think it will probably be in 2024.”
Our “establishments” refuse to give us the truth, Ramaswamy says that “we can handle the truth,” extending the analogy to a new American revolution:
“We the people live in a time when the government believes that the citizens of this nation cannot be trusted with the truth.”
Ramaswamy tells Carlson:
“I think there’s a bipartisan consensus in this country right now that we the people can’t handle the truth,”
“It’s like Jack Nicholson at the end of the movie, right? You can’t handle the truth, you need me on the wall. My opinion, my basic view in this campaign is no, we don’t need you on this wall and Yes, we can handle the truth.“
He continues:
“I think we’re on the cusp of chaos, there’s definitely something going on…we’re in a fall 1775, spring 1776 moment…”
But be warned “There are many ways that energy can go…”
“… there is a dam that will break and the river will go somewhere… I hope it leads to a national renaissance rather than… other places this could go.“
Ramaswamy stresses the importance of addressing defense vulnerabilities, both nuclear and cyber, and discusses China’s influence and the issue of Taiwan. (consume the co-dependent relationship with China, aware that Xi is pushing for a deal where he gets to do our stuff – via Taiwan – and, in return, gets our IP).
Regarding foreign relations: the Republican candidate raises concerns about bringing Russia closer to China – because of the weaponization of Ukraine – which is perceived as a significant military threat. He also points to America’s dependence on an island nation on China for its modern way of life and the debates over the war in Ukraine and economic dependence on China.
(“I’m not going to send our sons and daughters to die for someone else’s nationalist feud in the Ukraine war,” the candidate said, suggesting instead reopening economic ties and committing to curbing NATO.
, Hunter Bidenthe company’s negotiations and what really happened January 6.
He will be as popular with the deep states as Trump.
Ramaswamy also told Carlson that the modern LGBTQ movement is a “religious cult,” making people justify their beliefs despite being disconnected from logic.
“These are cult-like belief systems. True, because if it is a religious cult, then you have no obligation of logic if you subscribe to a religion,” he said.
“And the worst religions are those that do not recognize themselves as religions. . . . The most dangerous religions of all are those that claim to be secular but are actually religious in their conviction.”
Finally, Ramaswamy reflects on his campaign:
“I’d rather lose an election than play with some political snakes and ladders of what we’re supposed to say.” he said
“And I think that’s really one of the issues at stake today, just as it was in 1776. Do we think the public can be trusted with the truth? Whatever the truth is, just give me the hard truth.”
