Joy Behar seemed to confirm her dim grasp of reality in an outburst on “The View” about being on former President Donald Trump’s “enemies list.”
The ABC show’s panel on Friday tackled its favorite topic in another truckload of anti-Trump musings, this time fueling a recent interview the former president had with Univision Noticias’ Enrique Acevedo.
Trump’s vow to go after and “indict” his political enemies if re-elected prompted co-hosts to compare him to the late President Richard Nixon and FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover and prompted Ana Navarro said: “I don’t know what he is. If he’s arming the government against his opponents, boy, we’re in trouble.”
“Well, it’s like, it’s like Nixon’s enemies list. You know, in those days, he had a whole list of people he was going to go after. And then, of course, he had to resign,” he said need
“Doesn’t it seem like history is repeating itself?” co-host Sunny Hostin asked. “I mean, I just read a book about how history is cyclical and, you know, every century or so, or every couple of decades, this kind of thing keeps happening. It’s like McCarthyism, it’s like J. Edgar Hoover’s list.” .
“Anti-Semitism is back,” Behar interjected.
“Anti-Semitism is on the rise. Islamophobia is on the rise,” Hostin continued.
“It’s like… I don’t think people know their history, though. I think our education has failed a couple of generations. And they don’t realize that this is history that we’ve seen before. What if you don’t know history, the past becomes prologue. And that’s why we’re seeing someone like Donald Trump be the nominee here,” he pontificated.
“Don’t his supporters say that he surrounds the people who are in his corner? If you dare to go against him even that much, he goes bananas,” Behar said in another of her not-so-astute political takes.
“They don’t understand that this is a dictatorship. They don’t see the signs of fascism,” Hostin replied, to which Behar added, “And they don’t see that they are the next victims of this vitriol.”
Former Trump White House associate Alyssa Farah Griffin weighed in with her expert analysis of how and what the former president thinks.
“And the reality is this … Donald Trump is running for president for two reasons: to stay out of jail and to get revenge on his enemies. And when he speaks, we have to listen. And frankly, he does fear. He’s already said he’s going to come after people like Gen. John Kelly, my former boss, President Mark Milley, people who opposed it,” he said, as Behar added to his list by naming the Former Vice President Mike Pence, reporters and “us!”
“Yeah, I think there’s reason for all of us to be concerned,” Griffin agreed.
“What about us?” Behar demanded before launching a futile challenge to Trump.
“Try it. Go ahead. Try it. We have this show every day, okay Donald?” she said looking into the camera.
