Trump tells story of 'legendary' man behind him during taping, then sees familiar face in audience

Former President Donald Trump was speaking to a crowd in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, when he recognized a familiar face.

Returning to the state of his near-assassination, Trump spoke about the audience's reaction to Butler. He praised the bravery of those in attendance and specifically mentioned “the man behind me in the black suit and green hat.”

“When bullets are fired in a stadium, everybody moves really fast and they call it a stampede,” he told the Harrisburg crowd. “No one moved. You looked at the people behind me, didn't you? Everyone has seen those people. Those people have become legendary. This was just a small group. Tens of thousands of people right here, you couldn't even see the end, nobody ran, nobody moved. They knew he was in trouble, they said, 'You go to a football stadium where a bullet is going to come out, the whole place is running to the exits. No one ran. And what about the man behind me in the black suit and the green hat?

People in the audience were quick to point out that the man Trump was describing was at the rally, prompting the former president to yell, “Where? Get up here! Is that him? Yes, that's him! Wow! That's cool huh? You can be in a hole with me anytime man! It was a hell of a day, wasn't it?”
