Often, as conservatives, we can be a bit self-righteous, perched on our soapbox. We criticize the Democrats for deceiving their base and complain about how the deception is rampant on the left. That’s not a lie, but let’s face it: similar issues plague our ranks.
Of course, we deride liberals as “sheep” because they swallow the climate change narratives of so-called experts and lobbyists without doing their own deep dives. But can we honestly say that we are different? Do we question groups, lobbyists and experts aligned with our own beliefs? We may not be as gullible as the left, but let’s face it: our side is not entirely blameless. The GOP was filled with lying and scheming RINOs, and some of our lobbyists seem more driven by financial gain than principle.
Even those we consider to be doing “the Lord’s work” may have attachments; it is Washington, DC, after all. That’s the point President Trump was making when asked about the pro-life groups that are tearing him down and attacking him right now; maybe, just maybe, these groups have ulterior motives.
Trump correctly points out how many of the “Pro Lifes” who are attacking him are doing so because he ended his gravy train.

Is President Trump right? After all, if you look back at the midterms, the pro-life groups didn’t open their pocketbooks, did they? They weren’t running around promoting pro-life candidates after Roe v Wade was overturned. Quite the opposite, in fact. Pro-life spending came to an abrupt halt as the Dems cruised by like drunken sailors.
These balanced numbers should make those on our side think. Once again, President Trump hits the nail on the head. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortion has once again become a “state issue,” which is precisely where it should have been all along. Therefore, it should not even be a talking point in the 2024 national election, given that it is no longer a federal issue. But don’t be fooled; there are opportunists on the pro-life side as well as on the pro-abortion side. Abortion has become a lucrative business on both sides of the aisle and we would do well to remember that.
Unfortunately, the political landscape in this country is full of agendas, some good, some not so good. However, many times, the positive can outweigh the negative. Politics is a game, and it’s important to understand the rules so you don’t get caught up in propaganda and spin. President Trump has the ability to see past the superficial and tell it like it is, and that’s exactly what he did once again.
