For all the headlines Joe Biden made for raising $25 million in a single day at a star-studded fundraiser in March that featured Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, Donald Trump is on track to make ten times that this feat
According to the daily mail:
Donald Trump's campaign has raised $200 million since the former president was found guilty of 34 felonies last Thursday, his son Eric Trump said Sunday.
Eric said the figure was made up of more than $70 million in fundraising from small donors in the three days since the verdict.
The former president's son continued: “'If you add up the big dollar donations, you're over $200 million… And by the way, Maria 30 percent of those people have never been seen before for a political party”. The numbers Eric Trump cited seem to show that support isn't just coming from Republican voters.
Within 24 hours of the conviction, Trump's campaign had received $52.8 million in donations. Soon after, Miriam Adelson, the wife of the late casino magnate and Republican mega-donor Sheldon Adelson, pledged $100 million to the Trump campaign.
Trump had already begun closing the fundraising gap before that, with Trump's campaign ahead of Biden's in April, raising $76 million to Biden's $51 million. Biden had an $84 million cash advantage to Trump's $49 million in May, but that has almost certainly been wiped out in the wake of the new wave of nations Trump is seeing.
