Trump campaign comments on 'rumors' of 'serious drinking problem' for Kamala Harris

-

Ahead of the Democratic National Convention, a possible explanation for Vice President Kamala Harris' frequent word salads was presented in the form of a “serious” problem.

“There are a lot of rumors going around…”

While former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, remained tied to calling out the Marxist path envisioned by the presumptive Democratic Party nominee, members of the campaign team raise concerns of a more personal nature.

On Saturday, Trump 2024 campaign political director James Blair posted on X: “There are a lot of rumors about Kamala having a serious drinking problem…they seem to be coming to a head as the campaign s 'warms up'.

Similarly, holding back on any take of his own, Trump campaign adviser Alex Bruesewitz shared Blair's post without comment, while video clips of the vice president's recent comments during rallies and past comments to the press and others circulated under the speculative banner of drunkenness.

Reactions to Trump's campaign political director's message to stay tuned were mixed, with some bringing up her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. past lie when trying to get out of a DUI and others were unhappy with the decision to focus on substance over substantive issues.

What was known about Harris was that during the 2020 presidential campaign, the then-California senator was touted in a San Francisco Chronicle article as the only candidate on the court at the time who actually drank.

Then-President Trump, his Vice President Mike Pence and former Vice President Joe Biden were all known absentees, with each ticket choosing the lifestyle because of their own family history.

For Trump, tragedy struck his family in 1981 when his older brother Frederick Trump died of a heart attack attributed to his struggles with alcoholism. As for Biden, the career politician attributed his own abstinence to growing up with his uncle, who was a heavy drinker, seconds in the New York Times.

The Chronicle picked up on Harris' membership at a wine club in Alameda, Calif., where the owner explained that the then-senator stopped by to pick up his latest shipment of wine in his own car.

“I had a real fan moment,” Rock Wall Wine Co. owner Shauna Rosenblum told the paper. informed“That moment came earlier this spring, while Rosenblum was working the pickup line at his tasting room, which remains closed under Alameda County's coronavirus closure plan. A woman pulled up in his car to pick up your shipment of wine.”

“Rosenblum asked if she'd like her wine in the back seat or in the trunk, and she opted for the back seat. 'Enjoy the wine!' he yelled at the customer,” the Chronicle wrote.

The report stated that Harris “uses a pseudonym for his wine club membership” and “is a regular at the Rock Wall tasting room and loves Rosenblum wines.”
