Top Republican calls for Dem's ActBlue to stop processing donations for Hamas sympathizers after DCNF report

-

The chairman of the Republican National Senate Committee criticized the main fundraising platform used by Democrats after the Daily Caller News Foundation reported that it was processing donations for groups sympathetic to Hamas.

Montana Republican Sen. Steve Daines he called in ActBlue, which processed more than $3.5 billion in donations for Democrats and liberal organizations by 2022, to stop processing donations for groups sympathetic to Hamas. ActBlue processes donations for groups such as Black Lives Matter Grassroots, Palestine Legal, the US Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), and several chapters of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which advocated or otherwise legitimized the terrorist attacks by Hamas in October 7 when they killed more than 1,000 civilians in Israel, first the DCNF reported.

“It's shocking that the Democrats' main fundraising vehicle is helping fund anti-Semitic protests across the country where Hamas terrorists are honored as martyrs,” Daines told Fox News Digital.

Daines suggested that Democrats should take the initiative and leave the platform if it continues to process donations for groups that have praised Hamas.

“ActBlue should cut off access to these pro-Hamas groups or Democrats should leave the platform,” he said.

Three prominent pro-Israel Democrats, Sens. Chuck Schumer, Jacky Rosen and Bob Menendez, remained silent on whether or not they would drop ActBlue when the DCNF gets them.

USPCN, one of the groups for which ActBlue processes donations, described the terror attacks by Hamas as “operations of self-defense” that were a “legitimate response to the unending violence of the extreme right, racist, white supremacist and Zionist of Israel”. [sic] government.”

Hamas violated women and kidnapped children during their October 7 attacks on Israel. Black Lives Matter Grassroots, also supported by ActBlue, also defended Hamas' actions.

“When a people has been subjected to decades of apartheid and unimaginable violence, their resistance should not be condemned, but understood as a desperate act of self-defense.” statement of the group after the terrorist attacks of October 7 is said. Black Lives Matter Grassroots later bent in his praise of Hamas.

ActBlue also processes donations for various DSA chapters that express support for or minimize Hamas attacks. Among these were DSA chapters in San Francisco, Greater Baltimore, and Boston.

Palestine Legal, which also has donations processed by ActBlue, he called Hamas's invasion of Israel “one of the most significant acts of Palestinian resistance to Israel's settler-colonial project in nearly eight decades in Palestine.”

ActBlue and Daines' office did not immediately respond to DCNF's requests for comment.
