A video of Rep. Jamie Raskin raised eyebrows when it surfaced Monday as it appeared to suggest that former President Trump could be “disqualified” on Jan. 6, 2025, if he's elected in November.
The Maryland Democrat was seen in a Feb. 17 video panel at a bookstore in Washington, DC while talking about voter rights and using the Fourteenth Amendment to ensure that Trump never takes office even if the American people elect him again in November.
Raskin's comments appear to have been made ahead of the US Supreme Court's decision on Trump's immunity, as the Democrat and others in his party scorned conservative justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito on the high court .
“What can be put into the Constitution can get away from you very quickly, and the best example that is happening right now before our eyes is Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, which is just disappearing with a magic wand as if it doesn't exist.” , even though it couldn't be clearer what he's saying,” Raskin is heard saying in the video footage
“And so they want to throw it in Congress, so it's going to be up to us on January 6, 2025 to tell Trump's rowdy mobs that he's disqualified, and then we need bodyguards for everybody and civil conditions, all because the nine judges, not all of them, these judges who don't have a lot of cases to hear every year, not that much work to do, a huge staff, a big protection, they just don't want to do their job and interpret what the big Fourteenth Amendment,” continued the deputy.
The Supreme Court ended up ruling against the state of Colorado as it tried to use the Fourteenth Amendment to disqualify Trump from voting in Colorado's presidential primary.
“The Constitution makes Congress, rather than the states, responsible for enforcing Section 3 against federal officials and nominees,” the high court ruled in its March 4 decision.
Raskin's controversial comments resurfaced and took social media by storm.
“Even if voters unquestionably elect Donald Trump as president, no matter the margin, and even if the election is universally accepted as free and fair, senior Democrats are calling on Congress to block certification of the results and prepare for civil war,” said the ex. Congressman Lee Zeldin wrote to X.
“I think this is called a criminal conspiracy to commit election interference,” Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller noted.

“This is what a real threat to democracy looks like,” Donald Trump Jr. posted.
“I thought the left was the party of 'protecting democracy,'” Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) wrote to X.
“These arrogant elitist globalists hate the half of America that still loves America,” wrote former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
“Raskin should be disqualified from running for office again for even suggesting such an illegal coup.”

What Raskin reveals here is that, first, he knows Trump is going to win, and second, they're going to orchestrate another insurrection to try to fool everyone again into believing that Trump supporters are violent.
