Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson's home robbed in Los Angeles [VIDEO]

Veteran actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson recently faced a security breach as their Los Angeles property was burglarized a few weeks ago.

Thieves reportedly infiltrated the couple's estate by breaking windows to enter a guest house while Tom and Rita were away.

Despite the nature of the assault, the perpetrators were unable to break into the main residence.

Although the broken glass set off an alarm, it failed to deter the burglars from getting inside.

It is not yet known what items may have been stolen and their respective values. Authorities are investigating the incident.

According to law enforcement sources, it seems unlikely that Tom and Rita were specifically targeted.

Instead, the robbery appears to be part of a series of incidents carried out by crime teams operating in the area.

The case is under active police investigation and no arrests have been made at this time.
