'They're going to do it themselves. His power is totally exaggerated'

Democratic strategist James Carville said this week that Vice President Kamala Harris should tell her party's far left to “screw it.”

He made the stunning recommendation while appearing on the “Politics War Room” podcast Thursday.

“Get this, and I'll say it as plainly as possible: Anyone who has heard anything the progressive left has said has lived to deeply regret it,” he began. “On literally every issue, they're wrong.”

He then proceeded to pull out some receipts.

“Ask Elizabeth Warren about Medicare for All,” he said. “He blew up his campaign with a speech. OK, ask the 'defund the police' people… I'd love to read a good article about who really was the strategic idiot behind his presidential campaign of 2020, because they were real idiots, okay?”

He even pulled out a receipt implicating President Joe Biden, who spent the first years of his presidency handling the southern border crisis the way a left-wing idiot would.

“Why is the border a problem?” Carville asked rhetorically. “Because Biden listened to these people early in his term. They weren't just wrong; they were catastrophically wrong.”

To conclude his statements, he emphasized that the “progressive” left is always, always, always strong.

“These people are not only wrong, they are actually walking catastrophes,” he said. “And the sooner people realize that, the better off they'll be. And they don't have a lot of power. I wish I'd tell them all to screw themselves. Their power is totally exaggerated. They can't win an election outside a D+25 district”.

Many would agree that he is definitely right, and this is evident in the recent behavior of the progressive left: demanding that Harris not choose Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, a Jew, as his running mate, even though many they believe it would offer him the best chance of defeat. former President Donald Trump in November.

This progressive nonsense even found its way into The New York Times, where columnist Michelle Goldberg this week warned Harris not to pick on Shapiro because he's Jewish.

“[U]Until about five minutes ago, everyone was worried that the Democratic convention would descend into chaos over Gaza,” Goldberg wrote. “Many of those tensions have subsided, in part because voters angry about Biden's Israel policy they are more comfortable with Harris, who is said to be more sympathetic to the Palestinians.”

“Electing Shapiro, who is fervently pro-Israel and outspoken in his condemnation of the recent campus protests, would reopen those wounds,” he added.

Carville is not the only one to see the light on the far left. Responding last weekend via X to an anti-Shapiro campaign by a progressive group called “No Genocide Josh,” Rep. Ritchie Torres, himself a Democrat, blasted the “anti-Semitic far left.”

“All potential VP candidates are pro-Israel,” he tweeted. “However, only one, Josh Shapiro, has been singled out by a far-left smear campaign calling him 'Genocide Josh.' The reason he is treated differently from the rest? Anti-Semitism.”

“The extreme anti-Semitic left should never be given veto power over the selection of a presidential running mate,” Torres added.

The problem for Harris is that his entire career has involved him spouting far-left rhetoric and promoting far-left ideas.

Just before dropping out of the 2020 presidential race in 2019 and joining incumbent President Joe Biden's ticket, he made it clear during a CNN town hall that he strongly supports a ban on fracking, or fracking.

“There's no question I'm in favor of banning fracking and starting with what we can do on day one around public lands, right?” she said “And then there has to be legislation, but yes, that's something that I've taken on in California. I have a history of working on this issue. [W]We just have to recognize that the residual impact of fracking is huge in terms of the health and safety of communities.”

That same year, he co-sponsored radical Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal, which also includes a ban on fracking.

“Climate change is real and it poses an existential threat to us as human beings, and it is within our power to do something about it,” he said at the time. “I'm supporting the Green New Deal.”

He has also compared immigration authorities to the Ku Klux Klan and called for the elimination of private health care.
