The White House finally admits it’s concerned about crime after Secret Service agents opened fire

-

Secret Service agents protecting President Joe Biden’s granddaughter opened fire Monday — and failed — after three people tried to break into a Secret Service vehicle in the Georgetown neighborhood where Naomi Biden lives.

Not only did the agents not hit any of the suspects, but all three got away clean, according to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

Commenting on the incident, the White House argued that it is concerned about crime in the nation’s capital and other U.S. cities while citing President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, which had funding for local police , state and federal, to claim that Republicans had “. t acted to reduce crime, The Hill reported.

“They’re using it as a political weapon, as a political talking point while the president has taken steps to make sure our communities are safer. Are we concerned? Obviously,” said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. “Obviously, we want to make sure Americans and their families feel safe not just here in DC, but across communities. But we can’t do that alone.”

“We’ve been very serious about dealing with the crime that we’ve seen across the country and we’d like to work with the Republicans on this, they haven’t been serious about this,” he added.

Of course, Jean-Pierre’s statements are inconsistent with the legion of local Soros-backed Democratic prosecutors across the country who, in the name of fairness, all but refuse to prosecute many crimes, seek to reduce charges whenever possible possible and often do not require a bond. before releasing the suspects back into the streets.

Asked how concerned Biden is about incidents like the one involving his granddaughter, KJP replied, “We’re definitely concerned about what we’re seeing and not just here, across the country, obviously.”

The expression of concern appears to be an admission that crime is indeed a problem.

According to the Associated Press, there has been “a significant increase in the number of burglaries and carjackings” in DC this year.

“Police have reported more than 750 car thefts this year and more than 6,000 reports of stolen vehicles in the district. US Representative Henry Cuellar of Texas was carjacking near the Capitol last month by three armed assailants, who stole his car but did not physically harm him,” the news agency reported.

Violent crime in Washington is also up more than 40 percent compared to last year, with the AP noting that U.S. Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) “was assaulted in his apartment buildingsuffering bruises while escaping serious injury.”
