A couple of weeks ago I offered up my thoughts on the recent Bloomberg article, Corporate America Promised to Hire a Lot More People of Color. It Actually Did, in which the business news outlet analyzed human resources data from the S&P 100 and reported that only 6% of new hires were White.
It got by far the most number of views and comments of any postcard yet despatched from Barsoom. The short xeet promoting the essay went viral with 1M views, with frens such as @Kulak helping to bromote. It got picked up by the Swedish outfit Motpol, which was exotic, and by Revolver, which drove a lot of views, and a lot of new subscriptions
.also covered the Bloomberg piece, doing a deep data dive in Corporate America’s Economic War on Whites. This was much more quantitative than my own treatment, and worth reading.
Anyhow, the above isn’t to brag
, but to emphasize that the essay seems to have struck a nerve.
Given the volume of the responses and the depth of feeling they revealed, most of this post is going to be dedicated to sharing them. First, however, I want to address a critique which was made in the comments, and by numerous respondents on Xitter
, that being Luke Rosiak’s rebuttal in the Daily Wire: Bloomberg Flubs Data For Bombshell Report That Only 6% Of New Corporate Hires Are White. I hadn’t seen this when I published, so when it was brought to my attention in the comments I immediately pinned the comment and added a footnote addressing it.
The argument made by Rosiak is that the Bloomberg team screwed up the analysis by using the wrong denominator. The total number of hires should include both newly created positions and replacement hiring for vacated positions, with the latter being a much larger number. Instead, Bloomberg divided the increase in minority hires by the newly created positions only, thereby dramatically increasing their apparent representation. Using the larger denominator that includes hiring for vacated positions, Rosiak argues that White representation in the S&P 100 workforce “only” decreased from 54% to 46%, which he furthermore suggests is in line with demographic changes and therefore doesn’t show any evidence of discrimination (did 8% of the White population die over a two-year period?).
It’s worth noting that Bloomberg stands by its original analysis. But then, of course they would. It would be quite embarrassing if a long-established business news organization screwed up reporting on its bread and butter subject matter due to sheer innumeracy, only to be shown up by an intrepid reporter from Ben Shapiro’s upstart conservative rag. The competency crisis collapsing another complex system, perhaps. It’s also deeply amusing to me that a woke corporate news outlet is trumpeting to the high heavens that their cultural revolution is successfully locking the kulaks out of the workforce, while their nominally right-wing opponent in the culture war is trying to deradicalize their kulak audience by insisting that the zampolit got their math wrong and the decrease in kulak representation is “only” 8% over the course of a couple of years.
Anti-White Zealots: “See how we destroy you!”
Daily Wire Conservatives:
Overall though I’m not really convinced that Rosiak’s analysis is correct; nor for that matter am I convinced that he’s wrong. It seems to me that it’s more a debate over the right analysis strategy, in a somewhat ambiguous circumstance in which the correct strategy isn’t immediately obvious because the strategy depends on the question that’s being asked: the total percentage of White hires, vs. the fraction of new positions going to non-Whites. If 320,000 new positions were created, and an additional 300,000 minorities were hired, then it certainly seems to be the case that, on net, the new jobs are overwhelmingly going to non-Whites. On the other hand, it is a bit deceptive insofar as it implies that Whites essentially aren’t getting hired at all.
Stepping out of the weeds for a moment, both analyses reach the same qualitative conclusion: there are substantially fewer Whites pulling salaries at large corporations than there were before the Floyderdammerung
.
Anyhow, forget for a moment about the statistics.
Let’s look at the other form of data: anecdote. If Whites are being systematically discriminated against in the job market, we should see some indication of that in people’s experiences.
First, I’ll share some selected comments from the article, after which we’ll finish off with some xeets. I’ve focused on comments directly pertaining to people’s individual experiences searching for work, although I’ve included a few others from hiring managers to give a feel for the other side of the equation.
Without further ado:

Add me to the tally. White, male, GenXer laid off in 2020 for COVID from a national broadcast company where I held a senior managerial position. 98th percentile IQ and a degree in Bioengineering. Hundreds of resumes/bios sent out since 2020 has resulted in myriad stock replies as you quoted verbatim in your essay, about 8-10 video interviews, and zero offers. Have tried applying to positions I’m clearly overqualified for earning 60% of my former salary. Nothing. Can’t even land an interview from my former employer for the position I was hired for in 2011 where I received regular corporate recognition for my performance and 9 years of nothing but exemplary reviews. What began as frustration is rapidly becoming depression and desperation. This is not a good direction for our society. I’ve taken to teaching myself UI UX Design and web-building, since a freelance career seems one of the few viable routes left.
On phone for phone interview, clearly hear the gal tell the boss who was supposed to have called me twice before that same day, “It’s the same white dude from a couple hours ago.”

At my university job, I used to just have to put up with rampant sexism. Over the last few years, that’s become dominated by racism so much that I almost forget about how sexist it is. I’ve been looking for anything else to do with my life and am absolutely floored by the number of rejection emails I receive without an interview.
I started applying for any job just to prove to myself I could get an interview and it wasn’t what your article described. I only find evidence supporting your article.

I can concur white guys are discriminated against. I believe myself to be one of the pareto principle 20% of highly productive workers. But since graduating engineering school in 2015 ive sent out over 500 resumes, most of them professionally created by my gf and the teacher expert at school. I got exactly 3 replies and 1 interview. I was offered one job at a mere $19/hr no benefits for a temporary road construction power plant operaro. this is despite being a Jm electrician with exactly the experience in industrial jobs where i applied. So i couldnt justify taking that job when i was currently working as an electrician at 43/hr plus package. After 8 yrs of trying i have given up looking for an engineer job and barely scrape enough work in the union each yr to get unemployment hours . I also forgot to mention ive probly sent out 1200 non union electrical job resumes in the past 10 yrs too and got one interview but no job.
i even lowered myself to a assembly line worker one year making 16/hr just to feed myself.
How was i rewarded? they laid me off and promoted a nigerian who not only lazy but downright dumb. then they tried to offer me that supervisors position that the nigerian failed miserably at but only 18-19 /hr. I refused as i knew there was union electrical work coming at 43/hr
-its dispicable and demoralizing and i may take early retirement and move to mexico so i can afford to live off my cutrate early retirement benefits.
John- count me among your straight white guys looking for a job. Every single lead I have had has come from a personal contact. I have sent out maybe 150 resumes with a total of two interviews.
Randomly applying for jobs is a suckers game bc of what you note about white guys being out of favor.
Unfortunately, no one gives a shit. I’m not going to hold my breath waiting for the government to form the “white guy council” for them to figure out why we are killing ourselves with the latest street drugs or blowing our brains out.
I don’t know what the solution is, but I have a terrible feeling that, one way or another, the resolution isn’t going to be pretty.

A while ago I applied to a Canadian Federal Government job posting. It is a senior technical role I’m well qualified for, and excellent fit for my skills and experience.
A few months later I received an email that I was being removed further consideration for the position as I _”have not self-identified as a member of an [EE group]
(https://www.canada.ca/en/government/publicservice/wellness-inclusion-diversity-public-service/diversity-inclusion-public-service/employment-equity-annual-reports/employment-equity-public-service-canada-2017-2018.html)”_. Employment equity (EE) groups are “women, Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities”. Colour in the Venn diagram and I’m being excluded for being a white male.
This, it turns out, is consistent with [government policy]
For shits and giggles I decided to submit an Access To Information request on the hiring process, the Canadian equivalent of an FOI, to determine why. After $5 and a few months, I got my answer:
There were too many applicants who fulfilled threshold requirements and the simplest way to reduce the effort required downstream in the hiring process was to exclude non EE canadidates as a _”volume management strategy”_., an HR term of art for ways to throw away most of the CVs. Not even fuck the white guy, they’re just lazy and the white guy is the only one they can legally fuck. It’s encouraged.
I was recently referred to a position very similar to the one I currently occupy at a SaaS company (where I feel I barely squeaked in before the aftermath of Saint Floyd’s Summer took full effect) by an Indian-Canadian colleague who used to work with me here.
The company is a similar size, in the same industry, and the role would have been a perfect fit for my skills.
Having talked to some former coworkers who left my current employer, I already knew I was underpaid but not how woefully: according to the recruiter for this position, the salary range was literally double my current pay and the health insurance premiums for my entire family would have been covered.
Alas, despite being given a chance by the white, 20-something female HR recruiter (who likely just has an incentive to pass along anyone who appears competent), I didn’t even get to speak with the white woman in the Bay Area who would have been my manager because they “decided to go with a late-stage candidate.”
I noticed basically the same role was open on a different team, so I asked the recruiter about it and had my friend push my resume for that one, too.
This one actually got me an interview with the woman who’d have been my manager– again, a white woman, this time an overweight, late 30s woman who studied Women’s Studies and Social Work, spending half her professional career fundraising for the Social Democrat party in Canada before somehow transitioning into a SaaS technical role.
I was wary of reporting to such a person, but given the potential pay raise, I was willing to try to play nice with almost anyone.
We actually had a great 30-minute conversation where I felt I developed good rapport with her and demonstrated my abilities as a near-perfect match for the role, especially given my own personal experience as not just an employee in the space but an end user of software products in the e-com niche as an entrepreneur myself.
Go figure, I got the exact same email, word for word, from the recruiter about them wanting to go with another “late stage candidate.”
Now, the positions are gone from their site, so it’s possible they really did have two other candidates and I just missed it by the skin of my teeth, though I had to wonder whether I was competing against other straight, white, married males with dependents or more single cat ladies who vote for progressives.
This was a year after Amazon put me through a 2-month, 8-interview wringer (including making me talk to the same person twice), where I had great rapport with the guys who’d have been on my team, my immediate supervisor and his boss, and the subject matter experts who assessed me. I am almost certain I was shot down by the very last interviewer (the secret “bar raiser” who holds veto power over the entire chain of interviewers), who was a white woman my own age, the only one with pronouns in her signature, and who was training another woman to conduct the interview at the end of a 5-hour day where my brain was already fried.
Although I didn’t get that job, I think I dodged a bullet since most of the tech companies did massive layoffs last fall, including my own, though I managed to be enough of a generalist with enough history here I wasn’t redundant enough to axe.
In both cases, I received no feedback about why I wasn’t selected, but it’s one thing when you interview for a job where you figure out you’re probably in over your head or the fit isn’t that great or you make a poor showing of your skills in the interview and quite another where it feels like a position fits like a glove and would come with a sizeable raise and career advancement.
I haven’t exactly been pounding the digital pavement, but if I can’t even get a job when I have a referral, it feels pointless. And to be honest, I sort of gave up on the corporate world a while ago and have no desire to try to climb the ladder, especially seeing the writing on the wall for guys like me.
Which is why I’ve been buckling down continuing to build my own personal brand and consulting services. Would rather be done with all the woke HR departments and keeping my head down just to get a paycheck anyway.
My last full-time job was at Craigslist. The sole HR woman there systematically threw out every resume from white males for a number of years until the hiring managers finally realized what she was doing. She was fired, and not replaced. They function much better with no HR department at all now.
I actively hire for bleeding edge IT workers for a huge global institution. It’s not really DIE that I’ve seen factor in, that’s all garbage lip service. It’s that 90% of the resumes I see are from a select few bodyshops that cater almost exclusively to Indian/Asian candidates. Of these candidates, about 10% of the resumes are legit and maybe half of those actually might fit the role. The offshore/onshore brown-people consulting firms have simply dominated large corporation HR departments through aggressive marketing campaigns and outright kickbacks. They have engaged in massive fraud with huge pools of fabricated talent. I’m one of the few hiring directors who will grill you on hard technical tasks the first day in person which were covered during the interview process. I’ve lost count now of how many outright charlatans I’ve fired within the first few hours of day 1. The audacity is overwhelming
I defected. In 2019, I went to work for an Arab company in the Middle East. My issue wasn’t racial discrimination, I think. It was age discrimination. The West has this “cult of youth,” where HR looks for a 22 year-old with 10 years’ experience. In the Middle East and Asia, age is often viewed as a plus. I have not had to learn a new language, since English (fortunately) has become the world’s business lingua franca.
The upside is I have never felt so respected and valued in my career by my colleagues and my managers. None of this “you can always be replaced, you know” that you get in American companies. The money’s not bad either. (Americans who work for foreign companies abroad get certain tax advantages, though they don’t compare with the tax advantages my British and Australian colleagues enjoy.) Health care is free and of high quality and schooling for your children through HS is also taken care of. Crime is virtually unknown and I never hesitate to walk the streets at any time of the day or night.
Obviously, I miss my friends and family in the US, though the advent of social media and satellite TV makes it far easier to stay in touch than even a few years ago. When people ask me if I think of going back, I find myself saying more and more, “Why?”
I can only speak for myself but I would assume other white guys are doing what I do, which is stick to midsize companies, particularly if they aren’t public traded, where the urge to act like a Pick Me slut for Blackrock isn’t as great.

Here in the rural mountain west there is a big shortage of workers, especially skilled trades. Electrician, plumber, building trades, well drillers, mechanics and so on. Tradesmen I’ve talked to say no one wants to work and they can’t get anyone anyway. Makes one wonder who is going to fix and build stuff after they retire. Which for some of them isn’t that far off.
It takes competence and intelligence to build, operate and maintain complex systems. the diversity hires people will find that out. South Africa and Rhodesia will be the future for most of the United States.
I work in construction and I look around at all the Mexicans and think “where are all the white guys?” We’re still here as foreman, managers, and inspectors. But the the young whites seem to have vanished.
If i can make a reccomendation, alot of the military industrial complex is more untouched by this phenomena of hiring foreign workers as they HAVE to higher US born or naturalizated citizens in order to be in compliance with EAR and ITAR regulations (the bedrock of guidelines that the MIC is build on). I’m a white dude, my father was a Mexican I never knew so in order to check the box I just say I’m Hispanic. It’s helped in the past. … Lockheed and Northrop are cerial offenders in this case ((see failed hypersonic missile program from Lockheed)). But alot of smaller defense manufacturers or suppliers for large manufacturing (eg the people Lockheed buy the parts from in the first place because NO one makes their own parts they all outsource it) are largely white guys hiring white guys. Hiring just run of the mill white dudes is the easiest way to ensure compliance so smaller companies with less HR go that route. And it’s also a culture thing, teams with less “diversity” (nigs and spics) are more productive and form better comradery/ make a better product. This is just what I’ve seen but tldr don’t worry, it’s still a avenue to consider.
And finally, a few choice remarks from Xitter:
Not saying this is why I am currently unemployed, but I sent maybe ~1000 applicationsin the last six months and have had no responses. Im going back in the kitchens in the mean time. But its hard not to suspect something when you see this. Nonetheless I must keep going.
The intern class at my bank was 75% female. Almost all the males were black or Hispanic.
It’s even more disproportionately female at other companies at my building given the elevator rides.
I’m the only white person under 40 who even does financial modeling (almost all Asian)
I wasted my time getting a CS degree and no one will hire me. I have no other options beyond the service industry or a pivot to blue collar work. I’m still in disbelief that I passed calculus 3 just so I could become a bartender or hull around lumber and cement mix.
My place of work hired 1 new white male over the last 5 years – approximately 50 total positions turned over during that time. If I had applied for the same role, just a year or so after I actually did, I would have never even been considered for it.
I’ve been trying to find a job for two years. I have a decade of experience in my industry and great references. I’m regularly being passed up for jobs by women with way less experience or by people working in the country with visas.
I’ll let you know when my White husband who works in corporate America finds a job. … Laid off mid June. Small company started by Indians, bought out by larger company also run by Indians, no Indians laid off though. Imagine that. His Italian surname gets him in the door – I guess they think he’s Hispanic – but once they see him, (White) it’s over.
I applied for about 200 jobs last year before I figured it out. Said I was black on 1 application and immediately got an interview.
Clown world.
As a white guy who has applied for
20+ jobs in the past year I can attest to this stat
I’m lucky to already have a stable job at a large, privately owned corp. I’ve tried to look for jobs a few times in the past 5 years and can’t even get a “no.” My qualifications & skills are unquestionable, but they see a middle aged white guy and shut the door. So I’m stuck.
The overall sense I got from these accounts is that a lot of people really are struggling out there, but it isn’t all bleak. As I suggested in the original article, small- and mid-sized enterprises seem to be much friendlier, less politicized environments, and a lot of people are finding their way in the trades, via entrepreneurship, or by leaving the Anglosphere for greener pastures. Late-stage affirmative action is a challenging environment to make a living in, but there are ways around it, and in the long run, being forced into independence will make us that much stronger.

Maybe it’s time to talk about religion again. There’s no way to know, and the only way to find out what I write out about next is to
