The Commonwealth Fund today released the latest edition of its U.S. Health Care from a Global Perspective report that confirms what we in the alternative health media have been reporting for decades: The American medical system is broken.
We spend more money on “health care” than any other developed country, and yet we have the worst health outcomes among developed countries, including the lowest life expectancy and the highest rates of maternal and infant mortality, in compared to other rich countries.
Despite the US government spending trillions of dollars on its response to COVID-19 since 2020, health outcomes have only worsened compared to other rich countries.
Babies born in the US now have the highest chance of dying at birth and the lowest life expectancy, compared to babies born in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
These very poor health outcomes are the result of the world’s most expensive “health care” system.
What we have in America is certainly not a “health care” system, but a “sickness care system” designed to maximize profits while keeping sick people as regular customers.
Wall Street billionaires and bankers know this, which is why in 2018 analysts at Goldman Sachs tackled the question: “Is patient care a sustainable business model?” I will see:
