Buffalo police have released body camera footage that captured the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Daevon Roberts by Officer Ronald Ammerman on Kensington Avenue.
The incident occurred on July 10, after Roberts, initially pulled over for speeding and window tint violations, attempted to flee the scene with a 6-year-old child in the car without a seat belt.
At a press conference, Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia defended the officer's actions, saying, “I think it's a justified use of force that occurred the other night.”

Reports indicate that Roberts did not provide valid identification and drove off when the officer's arm was inside the vehicle.
The video reveals the high-speed chase involving Officer Ammerman's pleas for Roberts to stop.
These events led to the fatal shooting, with the discovery of a loaded handgun under the driver's seat during a search of Roberts' vehicle further complicating the encounter.
Roberts, who previously faced charges related to gun possession and reckless endangerment, had family ties to an earlier incident involving the death of 12-year-old Jaylen Griffin.
During the ongoing investigations, the two officers present at the scene have been placed on administrative leave in accordance with department protocols.
This latest incident marks the second fatal police-involved shooting in Buffalo this year.
