America is at a turning point. We must choose between words and action, rhetoric and results. Miami’s success has been significant and sustained because we have focused on keeping people safe, keeping taxes low, and embracing American innovation. The adoption of innovation, from investors to inventors and entrepreneurs, has created a continuous flood, not just a flow, of job creation with rising wages and better opportunities.
Miami’s success stands in stark contrast to the struggles of many of our other Democratic-led cities. Americans must choose not only which candidate they want, but which future they want. That’s why the selection of Miami for the RNC debate is so apt. It is the future, not the past, that will be on the ballot for all of us. Regardless of who you support, all candidates must answer: Where do you stand on the future of technology?
As mayor, I have done everything in my power to make our city’s economy a national powerhouse. We welcome (and welcome back) entrepreneurs like Ken Griffin and Jeff Bezos. The adoption of technology has allowed us to equip our police force to deliver the lowest homicide rate in history.
