An archived press release is being seen as the “smoking gun” in the controversy surrounding Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and his military record.
Walz, named Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate this week, made headlines for quitting the Army National Guard and avoiding a deployment to Iraq when he ran for Congress in 2005. Concerns about “stolen value” have circulated as Democrats. accuse critics of lying about Walz and the timing of his retirement from the Minnesota National Guard.
“Walz served in the Minnesota Army National Guard and retired with the rank of master sergeant, or an E-8. However, in his official website bio, he lists a higher rank that he served during a short period that was eventually annulled as he did not meet all the requirements to serve in that rank.” Breitbart reported “However, his biography implies that he retired with the rank of command sergeant major or an E-9.”
“He retired as a sergeant major in 2005 for benefit purposes because he did not complete additional courses at the US Army Sergeant Major Academy,” confirmed Lt. Col. Kristen Augé, a Guard officer Minnesota National. way out.
Walz resigned while the rest of his unit eventually deployed to Iraq. Now to Press release from Walz's own campaign in 2005 sheds light on the actual chronology of events.
The media is trying to report that Tim Walz retired before he knew his unit was deploying, since he retired 2 months before his unit received “alert orders” to deploy. What they don't tell you is that units also get something called “warning orders” much earlier: months,…

“On Thursday, March 17, the National Guard Office of Public Affairs announced a possible partial mobilization of approximately 2,000 Minnesota National Guard soldiers. 1st District Congressional candidate Tim Walz currently holds the rank of command sergeant major in the 1-125th Battalion, which is based in New Ulm and is made up largely of men and women from southern Minnesota,” the 2005 press release said.
“The National Guard PAO announcement specified that all or part of Walz's battalion could be mobilized to serve in Iraq within the next two years,” he continued.

“As a command sergeant major, I have a responsibility to not only prepare my battalion for Iraq, but to serve if called upon. I am dedicated to serving my country to the best of my ability, whether it's in Washington DC or Iraq,” he said before apparently breaking his promise.
“I don't want to speculate on what form my campaign will take if I am deployed, but I have no plans to leave the race. I am fortunate to have a strong group of enthusiastic followers and a very dedicated and intelligent wife. Both will be a big part of my campaign, whether I'm in Minnesota or in Iraq,” he added at the time.
Folks, this is the smoking gun.
No matter how many Democratic apologists try to spin the truth, this is from the real Walz campaign.
case closed Walz is a dirty coward who abandoned his soldiers, his unit and his nation. He sat fat, dumb, and happy collecting paychecks from drills…

The latest in the ongoing controversy sparked a new wave of criticism on social media.
Yes, his political career will not survive this. He was absolutely crazy to step into the national spotlight knowing he had this hanging over him.

And with his high rank he probably knew this long before the initial warning order went out

Yes, they go with the “I had already decided to run” excuse. Pathetic weak sauce.

The guy (Walz) ran away from a combat deployment.
The media can spread whatever rubbish they are spewing into space. No one believes in MSM anymore.
NO ONE!

I think it's worth noting that in 2005 (and other years) it was common practice to stop the loss of a unit when deployment orders were underway. So, not only did he turn tail, but he probably made connections to get out of it. Something your average Joe can't do.
