A veiled response about President Joe Biden's intention to honor fallen service members under his command ignited anger over his apparent priorities.
On Saturday, a drone strike in Jordan tragically claimed the lives of US Army reservists, Sgt. William Rivers, 46; SPC Kennedy Ladon Sanders, 24; and SPC Brianna Moffatt, 23 years old. As the administration weighed its response to the Iran-backed assault that left dozens more injured, a spokesman cast doubt on the commander-in-chief's attendance at a dignified transfer of the remains of service members.
During Monday's White House press conference, the National Security Council's strategic communications coordinator, John Kirby, was tagged in to assist the often absent press secretary and left both the press and to the public eager for Biden's plans.
“John, do you expect the President to go to Dover for the dignified transfer when these Americans return to the United States?” asked a reporter who got Kirby's non-response: “I don't have anything on his agenda to talk about.”

While Biden's plans remained indefinite, few were willing to hold their breath after the president failed to show up for the disaster in East Palestine, Ohio and the photographic abyss that was his trip to Lahaina, Hawaii .
Social media users readily recalled the president's demeanor when he traveled to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to oversee the dignified transfer of the 13 service members killed at Hamid Karzai International Airport's Abbey Gate during the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.
“He doesn't care,” many claimed while one person said, “Biden is pathetic. I'm sure he won't be there [because] it will interfere with his nap time.”
Others called out his disrespect for Gold Star families.

The public relations disaster was not easily forgotten as the president has overseen an increasingly deteriorating stability on the world stage, and Mark Schmitz, father of fallen Marine Lance Cpl. Jared M. Schmitz, 20, had spoken about it when he joined the House Foreign Affairs Committee to mark the second anniversary of his son's death in August.
While mimicking Biden's actions on the asphalt, Schmitz said in front of congressmen and other Gold Star families, “all I wanted to do was yell, 'It's thirty thirty two, you fuckers.' But out of respect for the other grieving families, I bit my tongue once more.”
“As you can probably see, I'm done biting my tongue,” he added. “You sir, stole their lives, their futures, their dreams and has torn apart thirteen families. You can't even do it and admit it. You sir gave us all the title of 'Gold Star Family'. You, sir, dishonor honor and integrity.”
More calls against the president compared his response in 2021 to his reaction to the death of George Floyd while in police custody. Free speech attorney and J6er Philip Anderson wrote: “Joe Biden just killed 3 black members of the military. Their black lives mattered so much to Joe Biden that he won't even bother running to receive their bodies from what I'm hearing. My condolences to their families. We'll do the right thing by voting Biden out of office.”

Meanwhile, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had dug her own hole of perceived disrespect while she was rake over the coals to refer to the fallen as “three people who are military, who are brave, who always fight, who fight on behalf of, uh, this administration, of the American people, obviously more, more important.”
