With the conflict in Ukraine now in its third year, Republicans and Democrats remain at odds over US policy toward the war-torn country.
A 62 percent majority of Republicans say the United States has no responsibility to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian invasion.
Americans are generally split on whether the US has a responsibility to help Ukraine (48% say yes, 49% say no).
- About two-thirds of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents (63%) say the U.S. bears that responsibility.
- Only a third of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters (36%) say the same.
Americans remain divided on levels of US aid to Ukraine. Today, 29 percent of Americans say the U.S. is providing too much support to Ukraine, and a similar share say it is providing the right amount (26 percent). About two in ten (19%) say the US does not provide enough support, while a quarter are not sure.
