The Naval Academy women's lacrosse team may have ended its season in May, but it recently captured the hearts of many with a patriotic pregame ritual honoring the legendary Toby Keith.

In a pregame pep session before facing Holy Cross in the Patriot League semifinals, the team broke into a rousing rendition of Keith's iconic anthem “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” . Led by freshman midfielder Sydney Beitler of Darnestown, Md., the team stood with their arms on each other's shoulders, passionately singing the song.

The video that appeared on Instagram showed the camaraderie and team spirit, culminating in Beitler playfully mimicking a “suckerpunch” on senior goalkeeper Anne Culicerto of Charlotte, North Carolina, in a playful gesture to the lyrics of the song.

As the Naval Academy took on Holy Cross, the energy of their pregame tribute seemed to fuel their performance on the field, with Emily Messinese and Tori DiCarlo each scoring four goals in a dominant 19-5 victory.

The viral video, which gained attention after being reposted by OutKick, drew praise from viewers impressed by the team's patriotic display.

Commenters praised the display, with one enthusiast writing: “This is the best thing you'll see all day!!” while another commented, “I'm not sure if women's lacrosse is supposed to make you cry, but Navy Women's Lacrosse did.”
